The ASR5K-00-SN01FLEX is a specialized license built for the Cisco ASR 5500 series. It provides Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) Iu/Gb Flex and Pooling functionalities for up to 1,000 Simultaneous Active Attached Users (SAAUs). The SGSN Iu/Gb Flex functionality allows the SGSN and Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN) to dynamically establish Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) links, enabling more efficient use of resources. This functionality offers the ability to increase the number of point-to-point links on-demand, allowing the network to accommodate more users without degrading performance. Its Resource pooling enables better load balancing and improves the network's resiliency by maintaining service continuity, even if one of the pool members fails.
