The FLSASR903-1588= is the Cisco ASR 903 IEEE 1588-2008 BC/MC License Paper PAK. This product license is designed to facilitate IEEE 1588-2008 standards on the Cisco ASR 903 Routers. IEEE 1588-2008, also known as Precision Time Protocol (PTP), is a protocol used to synchronize clocks throughout a computer network. In Its IEEE 1588-2008 system, one device operates as the 'master clock,' and the others as 'slave clocks.' The master clock sends precise time packets to the slave clocks, which then adjust their times based on the time received. The BC (Boundary Clock) and MC (Master Clock) functionalities become available upon applying for this license. BC reduces the required network bandwidth and the load on the grandmaster clock. MC functionality allows the device to act as the master clock within the network.
