Overview Of ASR5K-00-IP01PXYR
The
ASR5K-00-IP01PXYR is a Cisco ASR 5000 License tailored to activate the
functionality of the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Proxy/Registrar
according to IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) RFC 3261 specifications. It
supports up to 1,000 sessions on Cisco ASR 5000 Series Routers. SIP is a
signaling protocol used in VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) communications,
allowing for multimedia communication sessions like video and voice calls. The
SIP Proxy/Registrar server routes SIP client requests to the appropriate server
and also maintains the location information of SIP endpoints. The IETF RFC 3261
is the standard that defines the SIP for initiating, modifying, and terminating
an interactive user session. It is necessary to secure interoperability with
different equipment from various vendors.
