25600 Gbps maximum switching capacity requires the appropriate configuration with C9600X-SUP-2; the chassis maximum is not an unconditional performance figure for every assembly. C9606R supports Layer 3 operation through its selected supervisor. OSPFv2, EIGRP and BGPv4 are available with Network Advantage. Management choices include CLI, Web UI and Catalyst Center. Keep the supervisor selection explicit when specifying performance and software requirements for the completed system.
C9606R is offered new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with module bay recognition checked and managed units firmware verified and wiped to factory default. C9606R identifies the Cisco Catalyst 9600 six-slot chassis, not a fixed-port switch configuration. The identifier does not specify a populated interface arrangement. For purchasing, use the complete PID for the enclosure and itemize the selected supervisor, line cards, power supplies and software separately.
Catalyst 9600 management options include CLI, Web UI and Catalyst Center. Choose the operating approach before preparing the software portion of the order. Identify whether administrators will manage the completed system locally or through Catalyst Center so the hardware and licensing selections receive a consistent review.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst 9600. Lifecycle planning should distinguish the chassis from its individual modules and software releases. For a populated C9606R order, identify each component separately so the complete configuration receives a lifecycle review rather than the enclosure alone.

C9606R requires at least two power supplies; a fully loaded configuration operating on 110V AC requires at least three. The default ordering configuration selects two C9600-PWR-2KWAC units. Confirm the input voltage and populated configuration before fixing the supply quantity on the purchase order.
The six-slot Catalyst 9600 chassis occupies 8U. Reserve the chassis space before finalizing the purchase, and review the surrounding rack layout alongside the populated configuration. Keep installation planning separate from port selection so the equipment order does not assume an available rack position without checking it.
C9606R has no fixed Ethernet access ports; network interfaces come from the selected line cards. Write the required interface arrangement into the bill of materials rather than relying on the chassis PID. Include the intended connections and selected cards when reviewing whether the quotation matches the purchase requirement.
