The CR5S40XLAN00 is a perpetual software license that enables VxLAN encapsulation and decapsulation on the Huawei NetEngine40E router, extending its capabilities for large-scale data center and campus network virtualization.
The VxLAN Function License is supported on all NetEngine40E router variants running NE40E-Series Release 8.180 or later, including the NE40E-MX, NE40E-SX, and NE40E-AX platforms.
Upload the CR5S40XLAN00 license file to the router via SFTP/FTP, then use the CLI commands "license add file <filename>" and "save". Finally, reboot the router or run "license activate vxlan" to enable the feature.
Log in to the router CLI and execute "display license all" or "display vxlan status". An active license entry and status message confirming VxLAN service availability indicate successful activation.
