The Cisco HWIC-AP-AG-N is a High-Speed WAN Interface Card featuring dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz IEEE 802.11a/b/g radios, designed to add AP functionality to compatible Cisco routers.
The HWIC-AP-AG-N is supported on Cisco ISR 2900 and 3900 Series routers with available HWIC slots and IOS firmware Release 15.1(4)M or later.
Power off the router, insert the HWIC-AP-AG-N into an empty HWIC slot, secure the card with screws, and power the router back on to recognize the module.
No separate license is needed; the module leverages the existing router’s wireless features, provided the router IOS supports embedded AP licensing.
