The C3650-24-L-E is a Right-To-Use upgrade license that converts a Cisco Catalyst 3650 24-port LAN Base switch to the IP Services feature set electronically, enabling advanced routing and security.
IP Services unlocks OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, advanced QoS, multicast routing and enhanced security features beyond the basic Layer 2 capabilities of LAN Base.
Log in to the switch CLI, enter global configuration mode, paste the license activation key, then reload. The system automatically installs and enables IP Services.
LAN Base provides basic Layer 2 switching. IP Services adds full Layer 3 routing protocols, MPLS, advanced QoS and enhanced security for enterprise-grade network operations.
