SmartPartition provides dynamic thin provisioning, space reservation, partition cloning and flexible capacity scaling to maximize storage utilization and performance.
By dividing a physical pool into multiple logical partitions, SmartPartition ensures isolated resource allocation and prevents capacity waste across multi-tenant or application-specific workloads.
The SmartPartition License is fully compatible with the Huawei OceanStor 5800 V3 series and integrates seamlessly with existing 5800 V3 controllers.
LIC-5800V3-PAR is sold per-controller and supports up to 64 partitions per array, with no additional fees for increasing partition count within the licensed hardware.
Use the OceanStor DeviceManager GUI or CLI to upload the license file, then apply it under the Licensing menu; the system will validate and activate it automatically.
After installing the license file, navigate to System Settings > License Management, confirm the license details, and click Activate; the feature is available immediately upon confirmation.
