A global bank deploys the MPC7E-MRATE-RTU-12xQSFP+/QSFP28 card as its data center spine to support 10G/25G/40G/100G server uplinks and multi-tenant VXLAN EVPN fabrics. Leveraging full-scale L2/L2.5 features, up to 2 million routes in FIB, 6 million in RIB and 32 L3VPN instances per card, the IT team configures 6 licensed ports (2×QSFP28) for active-active 100Gbps aggregation. Outcome: consolidated infrastructure, non-stop East-West traffic, and 3× throughput growth with sub-microsecond latency, driving cost efficiency and future-proof scalability.
A Tier-1 carrier implements the MPC7E-MRATE-RTU-12xQSFP+/QSFP28 line card in its edge routers to host 32 isolated enterprise L3VPNs over a shared spine. With reduced-scale L3 routing (up to 2 M FIB, 6 M RIB) and full L2/L2.5 EVPN/MPLS, the operator licenses 6 ports (2×QSFP28) to deliver dedicated 100Gbps circuits and flexible 10/25/40Gbps services. Benefit: rapid on-boarding of new customers, SLA-driven segmentation, and 40% lower CapEx/Opex through high-density virtualization and streamlined operations.
A regional ISP builds a fault-tolerant metro Ethernet ring using the MPC7E-MRATE-RTU-12xQSFP+/QSFP28 card to deliver dark-fiber, E-Line and E-Tree services. Full-scale L2/L2.5 support for VPLS and EVPN-VPWS, plus up to 32 L3VPN instances, enable seamless service restoration in <50 ms. Four QSFP28 ports, with 2 licensed for 100Gbps, aggregate backbone links, while 2 M FIB and 6 M RIB capacity handle growth to 1 000+ customer networks. Outcome: ultra-low downtime, rapid service provisioning, and a 2× increase in network resilience with minimal hardware footprint.
