PWR-C45-2800ACV is a 2800W AC hot-swap internal power supply for Catalyst 4500 and Catalyst 4500 E-Series chassis. It uses 200-240V AC input and gives 1400W of PoE in redundant mode or 2333W of PoE in combined mode. The Cisco Catalyst 4500 power supply fits Catalyst 4503, 4506, 4507R and 4510R chassis, plus Catalyst 4503-E, 4506-E, 4507R-E, 4510R-E, 4507R+E and 4510R+E switches. Single supplies install in the left bay, and the second supply installs in the right bay. The power supply fan moves air front to back, while chassis fans move air right to left, so keep both side vents clear. PWR-C45-4200ACV is the higher-output AC alternative, with 4200W maximum output and dual AC inputs.

2800W maximum output divides into 12V at 113.3A for data, 3.3V at 12.1A for data and -50V at 28A for PoE. 200-240V AC ±10% input needs a 15A or 20A North American branch circuit and single-phase source AC. 16A maximum draw at 200V AC sets the circuit size before the PO. 20 ms minimum hold-up time gives the module its ride-through figure. PWR-C45-2800ACV uses an IEC 60320 C19 appliance plug on the cord, and the North America cord choices are CAB-AC-2800W-TWLK= or CAB-AC-2800W-6-20. Your Catalyst 4500 or Catalyst 4500 E-Series chassis is past Cisco service, and a failed 2800W AC bay still needs a matched module. Use the same PID from the failed unit label, keep 200-240V AC cords with the spare and confirm the left or right bay before the PO.
A single-supply chassis needs fault-tolerant power in the second bay. Match PWR-C45-2800ACV to another 2800W AC unit, keep the same supply type and use the right bay for the added module before the PO. Redundant mode lets the remaining supply assume full power after a power loss.
A PoE build uses Catalyst 4500 line cards and needs the 1400W redundant-mode PoE budget from each unit. Use two matching 2800W AC supplies for redundant mode, or plan combined mode only where 2333W PoE and possible slot power loss fit the maintenance plan.
100-120V AC circuits
PWR-C45-2800ACV needs 200-240V AC input. Use PWR-C45-4200ACV for Catalyst 4500 sites that require a 100-240V AC power supply for the bay.
-48V DC sites
PWR-C45-2800ACV is an AC module. Use PWR-C45-1400DC-P for Catalyst 4500 and Catalyst 4500 E-Series sites that need -48V DC input with PoE.
Catalyst 9400 chassis
PWR-C45-2800ACV does not fit Catalyst 9400 chassis. Catalyst 9400 takes C9400-PWR-3200AC as the AC replacement power supply for that platform.
Mixed wattage redundancy
Catalyst 4500 E-Series redundancy needs equal wattage and type. Use another PWR-C45-2800ACV for the second bay, not PWR-C45-4200ACV in that chassis.
