WS-C2960+24PC-L delivers managed Layer 2 access through 24 Fast Ethernet PoE ports and two fixed Gigabit combo uplinks. Each uplink provides a choice between copper and SFP connectivity, rather than separate simultaneous connections. The full-width 1U chassis belongs to the Catalyst 2960-Plus family and includes the LAN Base software image for branch offices, conventional workspaces, and building infrastructure. This Fast Ethernet PoE access switch connects compatible phones, wireless access points, and other powered endpoints where 100 Mbps access remains sufficient. The discontinued WS-C2960+24LC-L provides a lower-power sibling configuration with a 123W PoE budget. Native access connections remain 10/100 Mbps; Gigabit capability is concentrated in the uplinks.
WS-C2960+24PC-L price for new stock is $462.00, a 88.1% saving from the Cisco list price of $3,893.00. WS-C2960+24PC-L refurb price is $141.75. WS-C2960+24PC-L is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

16 Gbps switching capacity defines the aggregate forwarding bandwidth, while 6.5 Mpps forwarding performance applies to 64-byte packets. A 370W PoE budget supplies connected endpoints through power allocation across the powered interfaces. PoE+ is not supported. The embedded Cisco IOS image uses 128 MB DRAM and 64 MB flash memory. WS-C2960+24PC-L supports detailed CLI administration, Cisco Prime Infrastructure integration, and SNMP v1, v2c, and v3 monitoring. Four egress queues per port provide traffic scheduling alongside Shaped Round Robin and Weighted Tail Drop congestion handling. Port Security, Dynamic ARP Inspection, and IP Source Guard provide access-security controls. The internal AC supply accepts autoranging input, while external backup power uses the dedicated PWR-RPS2300 connection rather than a second internal supply.
WS-C2960+24PC-L is offered new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with power-on and POST checks, rated-speed port linking, clean boot, PoE output verified under load on every powered port, and firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. New units carry up to a 3-year extended warranty, certified refurbished units carry up to a 1-year warranty, and every condition includes 30-day returns, terms apply. Specify this switch's condition, quantity, and required accessories on the purchase order. PO acceptance, Net-30 for government, RMA with advance replacement, and regional stock and RMA across the UK, EU, US, and MEA support enterprise and volume procurement.

In a 50-user corporate HQ, the WS-C2960+24PC-L Catalyst 2960 Plus 24 10/100 PoE + 2 T/SFP LAN Base powers and connects 40 IP phones over a single Ethernet run. Built-in QoS and centralized PoE management reduce cabling complexity, ensure consistent voice quality and slash operational costs, delivering rock-solid, high-definition telephony across the enterprise.
At a mid-sized university, deploying the Catalyst 2960 Plus 24 PoE switch to feed 30 wireless APs and edge devices streamlines network expansion. Twenty-four 10/100 PoE ports eliminate separate power lines, while dual 1 Gbps SFP uplinks deliver resilient fiber connectivity. The result: seamless high-speed Wi-Fi coverage, simplified management and minimal downtime for students and staff.
In a 20-store retail rollout, the WS-C2960+24PC-L aggregates 24 PoE-powered IP cameras and door controllers per location. Centralized switch management and Power-over-Ethernet eliminate local power supplies, while dual SFP uplinks provide high-availability fiber links to the video-management server. Outcome: enhanced store security, remote monitoring and reduced maintenance overhead.
When replacing switches serving existing powered endpoints, verify that each device operates within the 15.4W per-port PoE limit. Separate endpoint power requirements from link-speed requirements, and identify equipment that needs a higher power class. Specify endpoint quantities and required power allocations before issuing the purchase order.
When preparing a replacement configuration in a lab, account for the LAN Base limit of 255 active VLANs. Review the intended VLAN inventory rather than assuming every available VLAN identifier can be active simultaneously. Include configuration validation and an approved VLAN count in the staging requirements before the PO.
When standardizing replacement procedures across branch locations, Cisco Auto Smartports can configure interfaces as devices connect. Decide which endpoint types will use automatic settings and which require an explicit configuration. Specify the approved software image, interface policies, and staging checks before ordering units for multiple sites.
Gigabit connections for access endpoints
WS-C2960+24PC-L limits access connections to 10/100 Mbps. C1300-24FP-4G is the current migration endpoint with 24 Gigabit access ports, retaining the access-port count.
PoE+ power for connected devices
WS-C2960+24PC-L supports 802.3af PoE at 15.4W per port, not PoE+. Endpoints requiring a higher per-port allocation need a different power capability.
10G connections to distribution switches
WS-C2960+24PC-L has fixed 1G combo uplinks. An SFP transceiver does not increase those interfaces to 10G or add a removable uplink-card bay.

WS-C2960+24PC-L identifies a Catalyst 2960-Plus switch: WS-C2960+ identifies the family, 24 specifies the access-port count, PC identifies the PoE configuration with two copper-or-SFP uplinks, and L identifies LAN Base. The resulting configuration has Fast Ethernet access connections rather than Gigabit access ports.
WS-C2960+24PC-L supports Cisco IOS CLI administration, Telnet, SNMP v1, v2c, and v3, and Cisco Prime Infrastructure management. Local console connectivity uses CAB-CONSOLE-RJ45. Specify the required management method during staging so the replacement configuration includes the intended administration and monitoring settings before deployment.
WS-C2960+24PC-L is discontinued, with an end-of-sale date of October 31, 2021, and a last date of support of October 31, 2026. C1000-24FP-4G-L was its replacement but is also discontinued. The forward migration chain now ends at C1300-24FP-4G for current replacement purchases.
ORM offers WS-C2960+24PC-L new sealed or certified refurbished, with new extended warranties up to three years, refurbished warranties up to one year, and 30-day returns on either condition, terms apply. Cisco's Enhanced Limited Lifetime Hardware Warranty has original-owner eligibility and discontinuance terms; Cisco service ends October 31, 2026.
WS-C2960+24PC-L includes the LAN Base Cisco IOS feature set, and its software level is tied to the hardware model. Catalyst 2960-Plus LAN Lite models cannot be upgraded to LAN Base. Confirm the required feature level before accepting a substitute part number on the purchase order.
WS-C2960+24PC-L replaced WS-C2960-24PC-L, whose end-of-sale date was October 31, 2014. Both configurations provide 24 Fast Ethernet PoE access ports, two copper-or-SFP uplinks, and LAN Base. The predecessor's Cisco support ended October 31, 2019, so distinguish its lifecycle from the later replacement when planning spares.
WS-C2960+24PC-L provides a 370W PoE budget and supports 24 ports at up to 15.4W each under 802.3af. The combined allocation at that per-port limit is 369.6W. Verify each endpoint's required power class before ordering because these interfaces provide PoE rather than PoE+.
The Catalyst 2960-Plus 24PC-L supports two Gigabit combo uplinks, each offering either an SFP connection or a 1000BASE-T copper connection. The paired alternatives are shared interfaces, not four independent uplinks. Specify the intended uplink medium and compatible optical connectivity requirements before completing the purchase order.
WS-C2960+24PC-L occupies 1U in a full-width rack installation and measures 44 mm high, 450 mm wide, and 332 mm deep. Its weight is 5.4 kg. Check available equipment depth and cable clearance when preparing a replacement location rather than relying on rack height alone.
The Catalyst 2960-Plus 24PC-L uses an internal autoranging AC supply rather than redundant internal power-supply modules. Input voltage is 100-240V AC. External backup connectivity supports PWR-RPS2300 through the dedicated receptacle, so an external backup assembly and a second internal supply are different purchase requirements.
WS-C2960+24PC-L provides 370W for 24 PoE ports, whereas WS-C2960+24LC-L provides 123W for eight PoE ports. Both models are discontinued. For existing-hardware replacement, the PC configuration serves a fully powered access-port requirement; the LC configuration corresponds to a smaller powered-endpoint allocation within the same access-port density.
WS-C2960+24PC-L includes LAN Base, while WS-C2960+24PC-S includes LAN Lite with reduced functionality and scalability. Both models are discontinued, and LAN Lite cannot be upgraded to LAN Base. Existing deployments requiring LAN Base need the L configuration; basic LAN Lite replacements must retain their lower feature-level expectations.
C1300-24FP-4G provides Gigabit access connections, whereas WS-C2960+24PC-L provides 10/100 Mbps access connections. C1300-24FP-4G is the current migration endpoint through the discontinued C1000-24FP-4G-L. The older configuration addresses existing Fast Ethernet replacement requirements; the current replacement addresses purchases requiring Gigabit connectivity at the access ports.
