When a branch rollout depends on browser-based administration, the Smart Managed configuration uses an on-box web interface and limits CLI access to monitoring and troubleshooting. A deployment plan built around full CLI configuration therefore needs adjustment. Specify the browser workflow, administrator access method and management-interface addressing before the PO.
When an access deployment needs addressed interfaces, the configuration interface allows ports to enter routed mode with IPv4 or IPv6 addressing. The default MTU is 1500 bytes, so staging should include the intended packet-size requirements and upstream compatibility. Specify interface addressing and the required MTU before ordering.
