9200 Gbps switching capacity accommodates the installed interface configuration; 8000 Mpps forwarding supports packet-intensive aggregation. C9500X-60L4D-A uses Cisco Silicon One Q200 with 32 GB DRAM and 32 GB flash. Routing includes OSPFv2, OSPFv3, EIGRP, IS-ISv4, BGPv4 and BGPv6. The maximum IPv4 routing table holds 2000000 routes, with allocation dependent on prefix combinations. Meraki cloud configuration management is not supported.

C9500X-60L4D-A keeps dense SFP56 aggregation separate from 400G-capable handoff ports, so architects assign lower-speed campus links and high-speed core links to different physical port groups. StackWise Virtual designs use paired chassis and multichassis EtherChannel for resilient downstream connections across critical paths. C9500X-60L4D-A occupies a services edge where firewalls, routers, server switches, and campus aggregation blocks exchange routed traffic at fiber speeds. Network teams map SFP56 ports to 10G, 25G, or 50G service links and place QSFP-DD ports on the highest-capacity paths toward the core or data center edge. IOS XE telemetry, programmability, MACsec, and Network Advantage routing features support controlled operations at this boundary. The network gains a dense, inspectable handoff point for high-bandwidth services without spreading links across multiple smaller switches.
When staging a fiber aggregation refresh alongside retained Gigabit links, the system supports a maximum of eight SFP-1G-LH or SFP-1G-SX transceivers. Separate these retained connections from faster interfaces in the staging plan, and specify the required transceiver quantities before the purchase order.
When a refresh requires breakout connections rather than native uplinks, breakout operation is restricted to the QSFP-DD interfaces. Those interfaces occupy port numbers 31 through 34. Map the planned connections to these positions and specify the breakout configuration before ordering cables.
Powered copper endpoint connections
C9500X-60L4D-A has no native powered copper access ports. Endpoint power requires separate PoE access hardware; adding a software license does not provide it.
Eight native 400G interfaces
C9500X-60L4D-A provides four native 400G interfaces. C9500X-28C8D-A provides eight, but changes the remaining interface configuration to twenty-eight native 100G ports.
Meraki dashboard configuration management
Catalyst 9500X does not support Meraki cloud configuration management. Use its local management interfaces or Cisco Catalyst Center rather than specifying dashboard configuration control.
