The E8KE-X-101-1X40GE-CFP is a 1-port, 40GBase LAN CFP flexible card (P101, ½-width) that occupies two sub-slots. It enables high-speed 40 Gbps uplinks in compatible network chassis.
This CFP card is compatible with Cisco modular switches and routers that support P101 flexible cards and allocate two adjacent sub-slots. Check your device datasheet for P101 slot availability.
Power down the chassis, open the faceplate, slide the CFP card into two free P101 sub-slots, secure the captive screws, and power the system back on. The device will auto-detect the new port.
No additional license is needed. The E8KE-X-101-1X40GE-CFP operates under your existing LAN Base or IP Services software package.
