The Cisco UPG ASR 901 4PORT SFP GE Electronic Spare (SKU: L-FLS-A901-4S=) is an official replacement module for the ASR 901 router, offering four 1 Gigabit Ethernet SFP interfaces to restore or expand network edge connectivity.
This module supports all Cisco 1 Gbps SFP transceivers rated for the ASR 901 platform, including 1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX/LH, 1000BASE-ZX and CWDM SFP models.
Power down the ASR 901 chassis, remove the existing SFP module if present, slide in the new 4-port spare until it clicks, reconnect power, and verify port status via the CLI or web interface.
In most cases, no additional software upgrade is needed if your IOS-XE version already supports the ASR 901 four-port SFP module; verify compatibility in Cisco’s release notes for your image.
