The LTU-LR is a high-performance 5 GHz point-to-multipoint (PTMP) client radio designed for long-range links. It delivers industry-leading sensitivity and up to 500+ Mbps throughput, optimized for airMAX-LTU networks.
The LTU-LR features 5 GHz operation, 23 dBi integrated high-gain antenna, up to 500+ Mbps real TCP/IP throughput, −102 dBm sensitivity, 1 W (30 dBm) max transmit power, and 10 kV ESD protection.
In clear-line-of-sight conditions, the LTU-LR supports links of up to 25 km. Actual range depends on environmental factors and Fresnel zone clearance.
Real-world TCP/IP throughput exceeds 500 Mbps when paired with a compatible LTU access point. Performance varies with link quality and environmental noise.
The LTU-LR uses 24 V passive PoE, drawing 7 W. PoE injector and mounting bracket are included for plug-and-play installation.
The LTU-LR integrates a 23 dBi sector-optimized antenna. External antennas are not supported to preserve optimal alignment and regulatory compliance.
Mount the LTU-LR on a mast or pole using the included stainless-steel clamp and adjustable tilt bracket. No additional hardware is required.
It operates in the 5150–5875 MHz band with channel widths of 5, 10, 20, 40, 80, and 160 MHz, enabling flexible capacity and interference management.
The LTU-LR employs airMAX-LTU TDMA scheduling, 1024QAM modulation, and GPS sync. This delivers superior spectral efficiency and low latency in PTMP deployments.
Use Ubiquiti’s UNMS (UISP) or the on-board airOS-LTU GUI for point-and-click configuration, real-time monitoring, and firmware updates from any browser or the mobile app.
Installation requires mounting, PoE connection, and basic alignment. A step-by-step online guide and LED signal indicators simplify setup, enabling full deployment in under 30 minutes.
Yes. The LTU-LR features an IP55-rated enclosure, corrosion-resistant hardware, and operates from −40 °C to 70 °C, ensuring reliable outdoor performance.
Ubiquiti provides a one-year limited hardware warranty and lifetime online community support. Optional extended warranty plans are available through authorized resellers.
Compared to the base LTU, the LR variant includes a higher-gain integrated antenna (23 dBi vs. 16 dBi) for extended range and improved link reliability in long-distance scenarios.
The LTU-LR is ideal for rural broadband, campus connectivity, and remote surveillance backhaul, where high-throughput, long-range PTMP links are required.
