N3K-C3132-BA-L3 combines fixed 40 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity with LAN Enterprise licensing and port-side intake airflow. The managed Layer 3 switch provides 32 QSFP+ interfaces and four SFP+ interfaces in a 1U rack-mount chassis, serving data center access and leaf connections rather than powered copper endpoints. The Nexus 3132Q belongs to the Nexus 3100 family and uses fixed interfaces rather than an expansion bay, so network connections do not require a separate uplink card. Unlike the discontinued N3K-C3132-BD-L3 DC bundle, this configuration uses AC power. Its interface arrangement supports native 40G connections alongside selected 10G connections, subject to the shared-port configuration.

2500 Gbps switching capacity defines the switching envelope for line-rate Layer 2 and Layer 3 traffic. 1400 Mpps forwarding performance supports packet forwarding across the fixed interfaces. Static routing, RIPv2, OSPFv2, EIGRP Stub and BGP provide routing options, while PIM-SM, SSM and MSDP support multicast operation. The routing resources accommodate 16000 prefixes and 16000 host entries; these remain separate resources when sizing a deployment. A 288000-entry MAC address table supports Layer 2 address learning, and 4096 VLANs provide segmentation capacity. N3K-C3132-BA-L3 combines 4 GB of DRAM with 4 GB of boot flash for system operation and image storage. 340W maximum power consumption sets the electrical planning figure rather than the rating printed on an individual supply. Four N3K-C3064-FAN-B fan modules provide a redundant 3+1 cooling arrangement. Native 100G connectivity is not available on these interfaces.
ORM Systems offers N3K-C3132-BA-L3 new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units, up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, and 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, including power-on and POST, every port linking at rated speed, optics bay recognition, PSU and fan status, clean boot, firmware verification and configuration wiping to factory default. Specify the condition, software entitlements and required connection components on the purchase order. For enterprise and volume orders, POs are accepted, government buyers receive Net-30 terms, and RMA with advance replacement is available across the UK, EU, US and MEA.

When consolidating multiple 10G server connections, the Nexus 3132Q supports a maximum of 104 10G interfaces through its breakout configurations. That ceiling is lower than treating every QSFP+ interface as four independent connections. Specify the required breakout layout and verify the complete connection count before ordering cabling.
When extending an existing routed fabric, 64-way ECMP provides a specific path-count boundary for the Nexus 3132Q. A purchase intended to preserve an established routing design needs to account for that limit rather than interface speed alone. Check the required equal-cost paths against the proposed topology before issuing the purchase order.
When purchasing hardware for configuration testing, the Nexus 3132Q provides NX-API and configuration rollback for staging changes before production use. Those functions distinguish an automation test unit from a simple connectivity spare. Specify the intended management connection, software image and configuration recovery procedure before the staging purchase is approved.
Native 100G fabric connections
The fixed QSFP+ interfaces stop at 40G. N9K-C9336C-FX2 provides 36 40G/100G QSFP28 interfaces, changing both interface speed and port count.
128 simultaneous 10G breakout connections
The Nexus 3132Q supports a maximum of 104 10G connections. Its 32 QSFP+ interfaces therefore do not provide 128 simultaneous 10G breakout connections.

N3K-C3132-BA-L3 identifies a Nexus 3132Q bundle: N3K denotes the Nexus 3000 family, C3132 identifies the model, BA denotes reversed port-side intake airflow with AC power, and L3 denotes LAN Enterprise licensing. This ordering name refers to the original Nexus 3132Q, not the later Nexus 3132Q-X or Nexus 3132Q-XL revisions.
N3K-C3132-BA-L3 supports CLI management through its serial console, SSHv2 or Telnet, plus Cisco DCNM, SNMP, XML NETCONF, NX-API and Linux Bash. A dedicated Gigabit management interface supports out-of-band access, while in-band management uses the switching network. Specify the management connection and automation interface before staging the unit.
N3K-C3132-BA-L3 belongs to the discontinued Nexus 3132Q family, which reached end of sale on October 20, 2016, and last support on October 31, 2021. The discontinued N3K-C3132Q-XL and N3K-C3132C-Z replacements lead forward to the current N9K-C9336C-FX2. Cisco service for the original hardware has ended.
ORM offers N3K-C3132-BA-L3 new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Both conditions include 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco service and warranty support ended October 31, 2021. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested.
N3K-C3132-BA-L3 includes the base software entitlement and LAN Enterprise licensing. N3K-BAS1K9 supplies the base functions, while N3K-LAN1K9 adds BGP, VRF-lite, VXLAN and PBR. Specify both license identifiers when confirming the ordered configuration so the quoted bundle is not confused with a chassis-only configuration or a base-license switch.
The Nexus 3132Q AC port-side intake configuration uses N2200-PAC-400W-B supplies and supports two redundant power supplies. Replacement supplies must match the chassis airflow direction rather than wattage alone. The AC input range is 100–240V, so confirm site power and specify N2200-PAC-400W-B when including a matching spare on the order.
N3K-C3132-BA-L3 provides 32 fixed 40G QSFP+ interfaces and four 10G SFP+ interfaces, with the SFP+ group multiplexed with the first QSFP+ interface. The four SFP+ connections are therefore not additional independent connections alongside every QSFP+ interface. Select the shared-port operating configuration before assigning uplinks or finalizing the cabling order.
The Nexus 3132Q supports 4 x 10G operation on QSFP+ interfaces, with a maximum of 104 10G connections across the switch. Breakout operation changes how the interfaces are presented rather than increasing the connection limit. Confirm the complete breakout layout and required fiber or copper connections before ordering the cabling.
N3K-C3132-BA-L3 supports static routing, RIPv2, OSPFv2, EIGRP Stub and BGP, with HSRP and VRRP for first-hop redundancy. Its LAN Enterprise entitlement also enables VRF-lite and PBR. Multicast functions include PIM-SM, SSM and MSDP. Match the intended routing configuration to the included software entitlements before preparing the production configuration.
N3K-C3132-BA-L3 uses AC power, whereas N3K-C3132-BD-L3 uses DC power; both are Nexus 3132Q LAN Enterprise bundles with port-side intake airflow. Both configurations are discontinued. The AC version matches an installed AC-powered configuration, while the DC version corresponds to an installed DC-powered configuration when identifying like-for-like replacement hardware.
N3K-C3132-BA-L3 draws cooling air through the port side, whereas N3K-C3132-FA-L3 exhausts cooling air through the port side. Both are discontinued AC-powered Nexus 3132Q LAN Enterprise bundles. The intake version matches port-side cold-air placement; the exhaust version matches the opposite airflow arrangement when maintaining an existing rack configuration.
N3K-C3132-BA-L3 provides 32 native 40G QSFP+ interfaces, whereas N9K-C9336C-FX2 provides 36 40G/100G QSFP28 interfaces. The original Nexus 3132Q is discontinued and beyond Cisco support; N9K-C9336C-FX2 is current. The older hardware suits like-for-like installed-base sparing, while the current successor addresses purchases requiring native 100G connections.
