SG200-18-K9-EU is a fanless, full-width Cisco Small Business 200 Smart Managed switch for a small business access rack. Sixteen fixed 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports serve wired clients, while two fixed 1G copper/SFP combo ports provide upstream connections. Each combo position uses either its copper side or its SFP slot, allowing a copper or fiber distribution handoff without changing the access-port count. This Layer 2 model has an internal AC supply and a 1U rack chassis, but no PoE output. In the same 200 Series, SG200-10FP has fewer access ports and supplies PoE, making endpoint power the key model distinction. The Cisco SG200-18 configuration fits a wiring closet that needs more unpowered Gigabit connections and a documented 1G optic path.

36 Gbps switching capacity provides the published fabric rating for the sixteen access and two combo port positions. 26.78 Mpps forwarding is the separate small-packet throughput figure. SG200-18-K9-EU includes 128 MB of CPU memory, 16 MB of flash, and an 8 Mb aggregate packet buffer shared across ports. Web management covers VLANs, STP/RSTP, LACP, SNMP, and RMON functions for Layer 2 operation; a separate routed device handles inter-VLAN traffic. The two SFP slots can take documented 1G optics such as MGBSX1 or MGBLX1, with each corresponding copper combo interface inactive when its optic is in use. The internal 100-240V AC supply has no redundant supply bay, and the enclosure contains no fan. At 22.9W published worst-case consumption, power planning is simpler than for a PoE switch. Hardware stacking is not a feature of this model.
ORM Systems offers SG200-18-K9-EU new sealed or certified refurbished, with purchase orders accepted for either condition. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested; every port is checked for a link at rated speed, and managed units are firmware verified and wiped to factory default. SFP bay recognition and internal PSU status are also checked. For European stock, match the unit label to SLM2016T-EU and verify the correct included power connection. New units carry up to a 3-year extended ORM warranty, certified refurbished units up to 1 year, and both conditions have 30-day returns subject to terms; Cisco service for this retired model ended on 31 October 2023. For multi-unit procurement, request regional stock, PO terms, Net-30 eligibility for government, and RMA with advance replacement.

A small business rack needs sixteen Gigabit copper connections for workstations, printers, and infrastructure. SG200-18-K9-EU adds two 1G copper/SFP combo uplinks to the sixteen access ports in a full-width 1U enclosure. Check patch-panel assignments and whether each uplink will use copper or an ordered optic before the PO.
An existing access rack gains a fiber handoff without changing its sixteen copper access connections. The SG200-18's two combo ports accept 1G SFP optics, with the matched RJ-45 side inactive when the SFP side is used. Specify a supported optic such as MGBSX1 or MGBLX1 and fiber type before ordering.
An organization maintains the same web-managed 200 Series configuration at several small sites and needs a spare for one rack. SG200-18 support ended on 31 October 2023, and the chassis is 440.6 mm wide. Verify the Cisco ordering label, mounting hardware, and internal AC power plan before the PO.
Powered access endpoints
SG200-18 has no PoE output on its sixteen copper access ports. C1200-16P-2G is a current 16-port powered alternative with a materially different power profile.
Ten gigabit distribution links
The two SG200-18 combo uplinks operate at 1G. Choose a current switch with published 10G uplinks when the distribution link requires higher speed.
Active Cisco service coverage
Cisco support for SG200-18 ended on 31 October 2023. Choose a current Cisco platform if vendor service is a purchase requirement.

SG200-18-K9-EU refers to the SG200-18 model, but Cisco's regional ordering number is SLM2016T-EU. The SG200 model identifies the hardware and EU identifies the region; the extra K9 segment belongs to this catalog string, not the Cisco ordering number. Match the chassis label before ordering.
SG200-18-K9-EU is a Smart Managed switch configured through its web interface, with HTTP browser access and network management functions including SNMP and RMON. The 200 Series also supports browser or TFTP firmware upgrades. It does not use a Catalyst IOS license tier; plan configuration access and a saved backup before deployment.
SG200-18-K9-EU corresponds to a retired SG200-18 model whose Cisco support ended on 31 October 2023. The Cisco end-of-sale milestone was 4 October 2018. Hardware from existing stock can still be procured through reseller channels, but Cisco service for this model has ended; size the spare and RMA plan accordingly.
SG200-18-K9-EU is offered by ORM Systems as new sealed or certified refurbished. New units have up to a 3-year extended ORM warranty; certified refurbished units have up to 1 year, and both conditions have 30-day returns subject to terms. Cisco's limited lifetime hardware coverage ended with platform support on 31 October 2023.
SG200-18-K9-EU does not provide PoE on its sixteen Gigabit access ports. It is intended for devices powered by their own adapters or other infrastructure, and its two 1G combo ports serve network uplinks. For powered 16-port access, compare a current PoE model and its separate power budget.
SG200-18-K9-EU has two 1G copper/SFP combo uplinks. Each combo position offers one RJ-45 interface and one SFP slot, with only one medium active for that position at a time. Compatible 1G optics include MGBSX1 for multimode fiber and MGBLX1 for single-mode fiber; order optics separately.
SG200-18-K9-EU cannot form a hardware stack with other Cisco Small Business 200 switches. Its fixed ports are used for ordinary Ethernet connections, including uplinks where present, rather than dedicated stack links. Plan each chassis as an independently managed switch, with its own power, configuration, and spare-unit record.
SG200-18-K9-EU is a Layer 2 Smart Managed switch, so routed access and dynamic routing protocols are outside its published feature set. It handles VLAN-based switching and web-managed access functions, while inter-VLAN routing requires a separate capable device. Confirm the upstream routing design before placing it in a segmented network.
SG200-18-K9-EU belongs to the retired SG200-18 model family. The documented migration chain leads to C1200-16T-2G, a current Catalyst 1200 model. For a direct swap, check the mounting space, power connection, and exact uplink arrangement. Compare the port map, PoE allocation, and uplink media before substitution.
SG200-18-K9-EU has sixteen Gigabit access ports without PoE, while SG200-10FP has eight powered access ports with a shared 62W PoE budget. Both include two 1G combo uplinks, but the SG200-18 is full-width rack hardware. Choose by copper port density and whether endpoint power is needed.
