SX550X-16FT-K9-EU combines eight 10GBase-T copper connections with eight dedicated 10G SFP+ interfaces in a managed, rack-mount switch. The Cisco 550X Series supports small and medium business networks needing both copper and fiber connectivity rather than an all-copper or all-fiber configuration. The fixed interfaces require no removable uplink card, and the copper ports do not supply PoE. Static routing and RIP v2 provide inter-network forwarding alongside Layer 2 switching; under the routing classification used here, the switch is Layer 2+. The discontinued SX550X-24FT-K9-EU increases the mixed-media configuration to twelve copper ports and twelve dedicated SFP+ interfaces.

320 Gbps switching capacity and 238.08 Mpps forwarding support the switch’s fixed interface configuration. The hardware carries 512 MB of memory, 256 MB of flash and a 3 MB shared packet buffer. SX550X-16FT-K9-EU also provides a dedicated Gigabit out-of-band management connection, keeping management access separate from the network interfaces. Browser configuration, Textview CLI and SNMP provide different administration paths. Hardware stacking supports eight members, with standard 10G copper or fiber connections serving as stack interconnects. Power consumption reaches 57.7W at 220V under worst-case conditions, so electrical sizing should use that figure rather than a PoE allowance. Cooling uses two primary fans and one redundant fan.
SX550X-16FT-K9-EU is offered new sealed or certified refurbished; specify the condition and quantity when requesting the order. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with power-on and POST checks, every port linked at rated speed, optics bay recognition, fan and PSU status checks, a clean boot, firmware verification and configuration wiping to factory default. New orders carry up to a 3-year extended warranty, certified refurbished orders up to 1 year, and every condition has 30-day returns with terms applying. PO purchases are accepted, Net-30 is available for government, and enterprise or volume orders can include regional stock and RMA arrangements across the UK, EU, US and MEA, with advance replacement.

An existing installation using SG550XG-8F8T-K9-EU can use this model as its named replacement. The older switch reached end of sale on June 18, 2020, and Cisco support ended June 30, 2025. Before issuing the PO, distinguish a like-for-like legacy replacement from a purchase intended to begin a current-generation migration.
A maintenance purchase needs a defined support horizon rather than an assumed lifetime service entitlement. Cisco’s last date of support for this model is July 31, 2027. Specify the required condition, replacement quantity and intended maintenance period before the PO, especially when the equipment will remain deployed beyond that milestone.
PoE-powered phones or access points
The copper interfaces do not supply PoE. C1300-24P-4X provides a current PoE migration option, but changes the configuration to twenty-four Gigabit access ports with four 10G SFP+ uplinks.
Cisco support beyond July 2027
Cisco support ends July 31, 2027. C1300-16XTS is the current migration endpoint after the discontinued CBS350-16XTS-EU, retaining eight 10G copper ports and eight SFP+ interfaces.

SX550X-16FT-K9-EU identifies the regional ordering version of the sixteen-interface mixed copper and fiber 550X model. Its configuration consists of eight 10GBase-T connections and eight dedicated 10G SFP+ interfaces. The EU suffix covers the EU and additional designated countries, rather than identifying a different port configuration.
The Cisco 550X supports browser configuration over HTTP or HTTPS, Textview CLI through console or remote sessions, and SNMP administration. Additional management tools include Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager, the embedded FindIT Network Probe and Active Advisor. Choose the administration method and management-network access requirements before deployment.
SX550X-16FT-K9-EU is discontinued and reached end of sale on July 30, 2022. Software maintenance ended July 30, 2023, while the last date of Cisco support is July 31, 2027. Remaining reseller stock does not restart those milestones or extend the manufacturer’s published support period.
ORM Systems offers SX550X-16FT-K9-EU new sealed or certified refurbished, with new coverage up to a 3-year extended warranty and refurbished coverage up to 1 year. Returns are 30 days for either condition; terms apply. Cisco’s separate limited lifetime hardware warranty remains bounded by its July 31, 2027 support endpoint.
SX550X-16FT-K9-EU replaces SG550XG-8F8T-K9-EU. The predecessor reached end of sale on June 18, 2020, and its Cisco support ended June 30, 2025. That relationship supports identification of the replacement part, but a current-generation purchasing decision should also account for this model’s subsequent discontinuation.
C1300-16XTS is the current endpoint of the SX550X-16FT-K9-EU migration chain. The initial replacement, CBS350-16XTS-EU, is also discontinued and reached end of sale on October 29, 2024. Its named successor provides eight 10G copper ports and eight SFP+ interfaces, preserving the mixed-media interface arrangement.
No, SX550X-16FT-K9-EU does not provide PoE output to connected devices. Its copper interfaces carry network traffic without supplying endpoint power. Phones, access points or other devices requiring power through their network cable therefore need a separate power arrangement or a PoE-capable switch selected for their power requirements.
Cisco 550X hardware stacking supports eight members managed as one system. Standard 10G copper or fiber connections provide the interconnects, and ring or chain arrangements are supported. Stack planning must reserve suitable interfaces and connections rather than assuming that separate, dedicated stack connectors are available on every member.
SX550X-24FT-K9-EU provides twelve 10G copper ports and twelve dedicated SFP+ interfaces, compared with eight of each on SX550X-16FT-K9-EU. Both models are discontinued. The smaller configuration suits an existing sixteen-interface requirement; the larger configuration addresses legacy installations needing more connections of both media types.
SG550X-24P-K9-EU supplies PoE+ with a 195W budget, whereas SX550X-16FT-K9-EU supplies no PoE. The former also uses Gigabit access connections rather than the latter’s 10G copper connections. Both are discontinued: one addresses powered Gigabit endpoints, while the other addresses unpowered mixed-media 10G connectivity in an existing installation.
C1300-16XTS is the current migration endpoint, while SX550X-16FT-K9-EU reached end of sale on July 30, 2022. The replacement retains eight 10G copper connections and eight SFP+ interfaces. The older model serves legacy replacement requirements; the current model is the relevant starting point for a new-generation migration purchase.
