WS-CAC-2500W is a 2500W AC hot-swap internal power supply for Catalyst 6500 and Cisco 7600 modular chassis. It delivers 2500W on 200-240V AC and 1300W on 100-120V AC, so full output needs a high-line circuit. The Cisco Catalyst 6500 power supply fits Catalyst 6506, Catalyst 6506-E, Catalyst 6509, Catalyst 6509-E, Catalyst 6509-NEB, Catalyst 6509-NEB-A, Catalyst 6509-V-E and Catalyst 6513 chassis. The AC model does not fit Catalyst 6513-E; that chassis takes WS-CAC-3000W for AC power. Redundant Catalyst 6500 systems allow live replacement while the other supply carries the chassis. WS-CAC-3000W is the successor and adds 500W in the same bay family.

90-132V AC low-line and 170-264V AC high-line input define the branch circuit choice, with 16A maximum current at either range. WS-CAC-2500W needs a dedicated fused circuit, 20A in North America. High-line output provides 15A at +3.3V DC, 5A at +5V DC, 10A at +12V DC and 55.5A at +42V DC. 20 ms minimum hold-up time keeps the chassis within its power window during short input drops. 3.6 kVA high-line sizing sets the UPS and transformer requirement. Integrated fan status reports normal through the FAN OK LED. Single supplies install in the left bay on 6-slot and 9-slot horizontal chassis, and the second redundant supply installs in the right bay.
New sealed and certified refurbished WS-CAC-2500W units are available for post-support sparing and failed-supply replacement. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested in a compatible host or on a load tester; output holds rated voltage under load, status LEDs report normal and the fan runs at startup.
