The 12404E/80 is fully compatible with the Cisco12404 chassis. It requires a dedicated slot in the chassis backplane and works with all Cisco IOS releases certified for the 12404 platform.
Power down the Cisco12404 chassis, insert the 12404E/80 into the designated expansion slot, secure the module with the retention screws, and power up. The module auto-registers with the chassis and IOS.
