The Enhanced 1280Gbps Fabric Option (SKU 12816E/1280) upgrades Cisco 12816 chassis throughput to 1280Gbps by adding three Switch Fabric Cards (SFC) and two Crossbar Switching Cards (CSC).
The SKU 12816E/1280 is compatible with Cisco Catalyst 12816 and Cisco ME 12816 chassis running IOS XE 16.9 or later releases.
The kit comprises three SFC-1280 modules, two CSC-1280 modules, mounting brackets, interconnect cables, and installation documentation.
By increasing the backplane bandwidth to 1280Gbps, it reduces latency, supports higher aggregate throughput, and optimizes application responsiveness.
