The Cisco 7606 6-slot Redundant System is an enterprise-grade modular router chassis equipped with two Supervisor Engine SUP720-3BXL and two power supplies for high availability and performance. It delivers advanced routing, switching, and security services in a compact form factor.
The SUP720-3BXL delivers up to 720 Gbps of switching fabric and up to 36 Gbps of IPv4/IPv6 forwarding performance per engine. It supports up to 16 million MAC addresses and 256,000 routes for large-scale deployments.
Dual SUP720-3BXL modules operate in active/standby mode to provide nonstop forwarding (NSF) and stateful switchover (SSO). In the event of a supervisor failure, control and data planes automatically fail over without packet loss.
The system includes two AC 1100W power supplies supporting 100–240 VAC input and N+1 redundancy. Each supply features overcurrent, overvoltage, and thermal protection for reliable operation.
