When replacing a discontinued SG250-08HP-K9-EU, retain the regional ordering requirement rather than treating every compact switch as interchangeable. The older model reached end of sale on July 30, 2022. Confirm the existing endpoint inventory, connection requirements, and required condition before specifying the replacement.
When adding powered endpoints, distinguish each device's maximum demand from its normal operating draw. A port can supply 30W, but endpoint allocations must remain within the shared switch budget. Record the required allocation for every connected device before approving the purchase order.
Direct fiber uplink connections
Copper-only connectivity excludes direct fiber attachment. Specify the required uplink medium before ordering; this chassis cannot accept an optical uplink module.
