The ESR-PRE3 Performance Routing Engine 3 is a high-performance control plane module featuring 2 GB DRAM and 128 MB flash, engineered to optimize routing throughput and stability in compatible Cisco routers.
The ESR-PRE3 offers 2 GB DRAM for large routing tables, 128 MB flash for IOS images, a multi-core CPU for fast packet processing, and standard control-plane security features.
ESR-PRE3 is compatible with Cisco modular platforms requiring a Performance Routing Engine 3, including the Cisco 7600 Series and select ISR G2/4000 Series routers.
Power down the router, remove the blank slot cover, insert the ESR-PRE3 module into the control-plane slot until the latches click, then secure the screws and power the router back on.
