When powered endpoints are being added, PoE+ can allocate 30W per port even though available switch power is shared. Sum endpoint allocations rather than treating port count as an available power budget. Specify a PoE-capable external supply such as PWR-IE170W-PC-AC= and size its output for switch operation plus endpoint demand.
When a spare hardware strategy depends on retaining an established configuration, the IE 4000 supports a removable SD card for transferring configuration to replacement hardware. Native Gigabit powered access ports
The eight powered access ports stop at 100 Mbps. IE-3500-8P3S-E provides Gigabit powered access, but has three SFP uplinks rather than the older mixed fiber configuration.
OSPF under the included license
LAN Base includes IPv4 static routing rather than OSPF, EIGRP, or BGPv4. Dynamic routing requires an IP Services entitlement; confirm that entitlement before specifying routed access.
10G uplinks or expansion cards
The fixed uplinks are Gigabit combo interfaces, and the chassis has no removable uplink-card bay. A transceiver changes the connection medium, not the maximum uplink speed.
