The discontinued IE-4010-16S12P sibling instead divides its access connections between 12 copper PoE+ ports and 12 fiber ports. 56 Gbps switching capacity provides full-duplex forwarding across the built-in interfaces, while 41.67 Mpps forwarding at 64-byte packets sets the packet-rate ceiling for traffic planning. 385W of shared PoE capacity requires two PWR-RGD-AC-DC-250 supplies; installed supply combinations determine the available endpoint allocation. 70W maximum chassis consumption excludes PoE consumption and must not be treated as total input draw with powered endpoints attached. IE-4010-4S24P carries 1 GB of DRAM and 128 MB of onboard flash for its operating software. The address table accommodates 16000 unicast MAC entries, with support for 1000 VLANs and four egress queues. When replacing an IE-3010-24TC or CGS-2520-24TC installation, the migration involves a discontinued predecessor rather than a like-for-like replenishment. Preserve the site's fiber and power-feed requirements in the replacement checklist, and reconcile the existing configuration with the ordered software entitlement before releasing the purchase order.
When additional cameras or access points share an industrial switch, a power-supply failure can remove power from lower-priority ports while preserving higher-priority devices. Record endpoint priorities and the load that must remain powered after a supply loss, then specify the supply configuration against that requirement before the purchase order.
When a remote cabinet needs a compatible spare, the removable SD card supports a replacement workflow without reconfiguring the replacement switch. Keep the spare's software entitlement aligned with the installed unit, and specify SD-IE-1GB= if a separate spare card is required for the staging kit.
10G fiber uplinks to distribution
The four fixed SFP uplinks operate at 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps. The chassis does not offer a removable uplink card that adds 10G connectivity.
Dynamic routing with included software
The included LAN Base entitlement provides IPv4 static routing. OSPF, EIGRP and BGPv4 belong to IP Services and are not included with the base configuration.
Simultaneous 30W allocation on every port
Allocating 30W across all 24 powered ports requires 720W. The maximum shared budget is 385W with two PWR-RGD-AC-DC-250 supplies, so endpoint allocations must remain below that limit.
75°C operation inside sealed cabinets
Sealed-enclosure operation is rated from -40°C to 60°C, not 75°C. Higher ambient operation depends on enclosure airflow and must meet the corresponding thermal conditions.

IE-4010-4S24P identifies an Industrial Ethernet 4010 switch with four Gigabit SFP uplinks and 24 Gigabit copper PoE+ ports. IE identifies Industrial Ethernet, 4010 identifies the series, 4S identifies the SFP configuration, and 24P identifies powered copper access. LAN Base is standard and is not encoded by a separate license suffix.
Industrial Ethernet 4010 supports a browser-based device manager, Express Setup, Cisco IOS CLI through console connections or remote SSH and Telnet, SNMP management, and Cisco Catalyst Center integration. RJ-45 and mini-USB console connections support local access. Catalyst Center functions depend on the applicable software entitlement rather than replacing local management.
IE-4010-4S24P includes LAN Base, with IP Services separately entitled through L-IE4000-RTU=, which is now discontinued. Catalyst Center DNA Essentials and DNA Advantage have three-, five- and seven-year term options, with three years the minimum. The base network entitlement and the management subscription are separate selections that must be identified on the order.
IE-4010-4S24P reached end of sale on July 31, 2026, and its last date of Cisco support is July 31, 2031. Software maintenance ends July 31, 2027, and vulnerability support ends July 30, 2029. New sealed reseller stock does not restart these milestones or extend the support horizon.
New sealed IE-4010-4S24P units include ORM's up to 3-year extended warranty; certified refurbished units receive up to 1 year. Every condition has 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco's separate five-year limited hardware warranty ends no later than July 31, 2031. IE-4010-4S24P-RF is Cisco remanufactured, not ORM certified refurbished.
IE-4010-4S24P replaces the discontinued IE-3010-24TC, CGS-2520-24TC and CGS-2520-24TC= models. IE-3010-24TC reached end of sale on December 10, 2019; both CGS ordering variants reached end of sale on January 11, 2022. The replacement itself is now discontinued, so migration planning should also consider its named IE-9320-24P4S-E and IE-9320-24P4S-A successors.
IE-4010-4S24P provides a 385W shared PoE budget with two PWR-RGD-AC-DC-250 supplies, or 180W with one PWR-RGD-AC-DC-250. A single PWR-RGD-AC-DC-H or PWR-RGD-LOW-DC-H provides 80W. Individual ports support 30W PoE+ allocation, but the shared budget does not permit every powered port to receive that allocation simultaneously.
IE-4010-4S24P has four fixed SFP uplinks supporting Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet optics, not 10G SFP+ connections. GLC-SX-MM-RGD= supports industrial-rated 1000BASE-SX multimode links to 550 m, while GLC-LX-SM-RGD= supports industrial-rated single-mode links to 10 km. Match the selected optic to fiber type, distance, temperature and software compatibility.
Industrial Ethernet 4010 accepts PWR-RGD-AC-DC-H, PWR-RGD-LOW-DC-H and PWR-RGD-AC-DC-250 supplies, with two internal supply positions. PWR-RGD-AC-DC-H and PWR-RGD-AC-DC-250 accept high-voltage AC or DC; PWR-RGD-LOW-DC-H accepts low-voltage DC. At least one supply is installed according to the order, so the exact supply selection and any second supply must be specified.
Industrial Ethernet 4010 is a full-width 1U rack-mount switch, measuring 44.5 mm high and 445 mm wide. Depth is 356 mm with PWR-RGD-AC-DC-H or PWR-RGD-LOW-DC-H, increasing to 385.6 mm with PWR-RGD-AC-DC-250. The IE-4010-4S24P chassis weighs 5.46 kg before installed power supplies are included in the rack load.
IE-4010-4S24P does not include OSPF or BGPv4 under its standard LAN Base entitlement, which supports IPv4 static routing. IP Services adds OSPF, EIGRP, BGPv4, IS-IS and RIPv2. L-IE4000-RTU= is discontinued, so an order requiring those functions must verify an existing valid IP Services entitlement rather than assume a new upgrade is included.
IE-4010-4S24P has 24 copper PoE+ access ports, whereas discontinued IE-4010-16S12P has 12 copper PoE+ access ports and 12 fiber access ports. Both models are discontinued. The original configuration addresses copper-heavy replenishment, while the sibling describes fiber-heavy installed networks rather than a current-generation alternative for a new deployment.
IE-4010-4S24P ships with LAN Base, while IE-9320-24P4S-A carries Network Advantage. The older switch's IP Services entitlement is separate rather than included in its part number. Existing LAN Base installations can use the original model for replenishment; buyers specifying Network Advantage should identify the successor explicitly on their purchase order.
IE-9320-24P4S-E supports a 480W system PoE budget with Cisco IOS XE 17.18.1 or later, compared with 385W on IE-4010-4S24P using two PWR-RGD-AC-DC-250 supplies. Higher aggregate endpoint demand favors the successor; replenishment buyers retaining the original hardware must size their powered devices against its lower shared allocation limit.
Industrial Ethernet 4010 supports EtherNet/IP, PROFINET v2 and IEEE 1588v2 PTP under LAN Base. REP, PRP and HSR provide industrial redundancy options rather than hardware stacking.
