42000 Gbps maximum system switching capacity describes a configured system using Fabric-3 modules, not the performance of the empty chassis. N77-C7710 supports N77-C7710-FAB-2 and N77-C7710-FAB-3 fabric modules, with the installed fabric and I/O combination determining usable bandwidth. OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and IS-IS require the N77-LAN1K9 Enterprise Services entitlement rather than a routing license included with the chassis. Top-mounted status LEDs report supervisor, fabric, I/O, power supply and fan conditions. Front access serves supervisors, I/O modules and power supplies; fabric modules and cooling assemblies are accessed from the rear. The chassis has no fixed network uplinks, so interface speed and transceiver selection follow the installed line cards.

N77-C7710 identifies the Nexus 7700 10-slot chassis with fan trays and no power supplies. N77 denotes the Nexus 7700 family, while C7710 identifies this chassis configuration. The PID does not specify an installed port configuration, uplink card or software tier; operating components are separate purchase-order selections.
N77-C7710 systems use the NX-OS CLI through a supervisor console or SSH/Telnet, Cisco DCNM web services and SNMPv1/v2c/v3. Automation interfaces include XML, Python, TCL, EEM, OnePK and OpenFlow. A bare chassis needs an installed supervisor and functioning operating components before these management paths become available.
N77-C7710 reached end of sale on October 12, 2023, and its last date of Cisco support is October 31, 2028. New service attachment ended October 11, 2024. Reseller equipment availability does not extend those milestones, so existing service eligibility must be checked independently of the hardware purchase.

N77-LAN1K9 enables Enterprise Services; perpetual and subscription licensing are supported, with traditional PAK-based or Smart Software Licensing administration. N77-C7710 has eight I/O slots, while N77-C7706 has four. Both chassis are discontinued, and neither chassis-only PID includes power supplies. N77-C7710 is the chassis-only configuration; N77-C7710-B23S2E adds one N77-SUP2E and three N77-C7710-FAB-2 modules. Neither includes power supplies, and both are discontinued. Chassis-only procurement suits component reuse; the bundle suits an existing-system build requiring those specific supervisor and fabric components rather than only a replacement enclosure.
The Nexus 7700 10-slot chassis does not include power supplies. Compatible options include N77-AC-3KW, N77-DC-3KW and N77-HV-3.5KW, with eight internal supply positions available. Input power and redundancy mode affect usable output, so specify the supply PID, quantity and facility feed for the intended component population.
The Nexus 7700 chassis obtains network interfaces from installed I/O cards rather than fixed chassis ports. N77-F348XP-23 provides 48 1/10GbE interfaces, N77-F324FQ-25 provides 24 40GbE interfaces and N77-F312CK-26 provides 12 100GbE interfaces. Specify the card and matching transceivers together; the chassis purchase alone supplies no network interfaces.

The Nexus 7700 10-slot chassis cannot retain mixed N77-C7710-FAN and N77-C7710-FAN-2 assemblies for more than six hours without shutting down.
