N9K-C92348GC-FX3 is a managed, non-PoE data center switch with 48 Gigabit copper downlinks, four SFP28 uplinks supporting 1G, 10G or 25G, and two QSFP28 uplinks supporting 40G or 100G. The fixed uplink architecture provides these connections without an additional uplink card. A 1U rack chassis places copper endpoint connectivity and higher-speed fiber connections in the same enclosure. The Nexus 9200 model runs NX-OS and provides Layer 2+ operation with its default routing capabilities. Its downlinks also accommodate 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps connections, allowing equipment with different copper interface speeds to connect without treating the faster uplink cages as copper access ports.

696 Gbps switching capacity and over 517 Mpps forwarding support traffic across the fixed interfaces. A 40 MB shared buffer provides packet storage, while buffer monitoring exposes utilization by port and queue for traffic analysis. Static routing and HSRP are available without a premium routing license. The system has 32 GB of DRAM for control-plane operation. N9K-C92348GC-FX3 also includes a 128 GB SSD for local storage, separate from system memory. Initial configuration uses the console; subsequent administration can use the out-of-band management connection, while NX-API provides programmatic access. POAP supports initial provisioning, and the onboard Python environment supports automation. Software telemetry is available, but native line-rate VXLAN routing is not. 242W maximum consumption provides the electrical provisioning figure; the 226W typical draw is not the maximum circuit requirement.
ORM Systems supplies N9K-C92348GC-FX3 new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on certified refurbished units. Both conditions include 30-day returns, terms apply; Cisco's separate 1-year limited hardware warranty includes a 10-day replacement turnaround after receipt of an RMA. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on, POST, clean boot, rated-speed port links and optics recognition, with firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify this switch's required configuration and volume quantity on the PO; PO accepted, Net-30 for government, RMA with advance replacement, and regional stock/RMA across UK, EU, US and MEA.

When standardizing out-of-band management connections, the switch presents RJ-45 and SFP management interfaces, but only one can be active. Decide whether the management network terminates on copper or fiber before ordering, and include the matching connection hardware rather than planning simultaneous use of both interfaces.
When establishing a local fan spare pool, a failed module must not leave fewer than two fans operational, because that triggers shutdown. Match NXA-SFAN-30CFM-PI or NXA-SFAN-30CFM-PE to the installed airflow direction, and put the matching spare PID on the purchase order.
When changing a cabinet from AC to DC power, mixed supply types are permitted only as a temporary transition lasting 15 minutes. Prepare the final matching-airflow supply pair before starting the change, and specify NXA-PDC-440W-PI or NXA-PDC-440W-PE to match the installed cooling direction.
Multigigabit copper server connections
Copper access ports stop at 1Gbps. The faster 25Gbps and 100Gbps connections use SFP28 and QSFP28 cages rather than native multigigabit RJ-45 access interfaces.
Native line-rate VXLAN routing
N9K-C92348GC-FX3 does not provide native line-rate VXLAN routing. A requirement for hardware overlay routing at that rate rules out this model.

N9K-C92348GC-FX3 identifies a Nexus 9200 switch configuration with 48 copper Gigabit ports, four 10/25G SFP28 ports and two 40/100G QSFP28 ports. The FX3 ending distinguishes this model from the earlier X version. The chassis part number does not encode a premium network license or a particular power-supply airflow selection.
N9K-C92348GC-FX3 is managed through the NX-OS CLI, using the local console for initial setup and an RJ-45 or SFP out-of-band management connection afterward. NX-API provides programmatic management, and POAP automates initial provisioning. Only one of the two management ports can be used at a time.
N9K-C92348GC-FX3 provides four fixed SFP28 uplinks supporting 1, 10 or 25Gbps and two fixed QSFP28 uplinks supporting 40 or 100Gbps. Select compatible transceivers or cables for the planned link speed, connector and reach. These uplinks are built into the chassis rather than provided by a separate uplink card.
N9K-C92348GC-FX3 includes static routing, SVIs and HSRP without a premium license; dynamic routing requires the appropriate additional entitlement. OSPF, EIGRP and BGP are licensed capabilities rather than features bundled by the chassis PID. Match the software entitlement to the routing design instead of assuming the hardware includes a full routing tier.
The Nexus 9200 offers Essentials and Advantage software options separately from the hardware configuration. Subscription terms begin at three years, and Advantage also has a perpetual option. Perpetual licenses are not portable between devices. Existing N93-LAN1K9 feature-based entitlements are legacy licenses and are no longer sold.
N9K-C92348GC-FX3 uses two power-supply modules in a 1+1 arrangement, with one for operation and one for redundancy. Compatible AC choices include NXA-PAC-350W-PI2 and NXA-PAC-350W-PE2. Power-supply and fan airflow directions must match, so specify the complete supply pair and airflow direction rather than relying on the chassis PID alone.
Cisco Nexus 92348GC-FX3 supports port-side intake or port-side exhaust airflow, but fan and power-supply directions must match. Use NXA-SFAN-30CFM-PI with NXA-PAC-350W-PI2 for intake, or NXA-SFAN-30CFM-PE with NXA-PAC-350W-PE2 for exhaust. The air inlet must face the cold aisle, so specify airflow direction with the hardware configuration.
No, N9K-C92348GC-FX3 does not provide native line-rate VXLAN routing. The model is an explicit exception to that capability within the Nexus 9200 family. Do not use its FX3 suffix alone to establish overlay-routing suitability; a design requiring native line-rate VXLAN routing needs a different hardware selection.
N9K-C92348GC-FX3 replaces N9K-C92348GC-X, which reached end of sale on September 1, 2025. The replacement retains the copper-access configuration with SFP28 and QSFP28 uplinks. For a migration purchase, specify the FX3 hardware and separately confirm power-supply airflow, connection hardware and software entitlements against the intended configuration.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Nexus 92348GC-FX3. N9K-C92348GC-FX3 is the replacement for the discontinued N9K-C92348GC-X. The older model stopped selling on September 1, 2025; that milestone and its August 31, 2030 last date of support belong to the X model, not the FX3 replacement.
Cisco Nexus 92348GC-FX3 requires 1U of rack space and has a 439 mm chassis width. Depth depends on the installed power supplies: 499 mm with the AC configuration and 533.4 mm with the listed DC configurations. Confirm the selected supply PIDs when checking cabinet depth and rear clearance.
The Nexus 9200 N9K-C92348GC-FX3 requires provisioning for 242W maximum consumption, compared with 226W typical consumption. These figures describe switch input requirements rather than a power supply's output rating. Use the maximum figure for electrical planning and keep the installed supply configuration separate from the switch's consumption requirement.
ORM Systems offers N9K-C92348GC-FX3 new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on refurbished units. Both conditions have 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's separate 1-year limited hardware warranty includes replacement with a 10-day turnaround after receipt of an RMA.
