Scenario: A global cloud provider deploys the Dell Networking S4128F-ON as spine switches in a leaf-spine fabric, interconnecting 28 leaf nodes via 10GbE SFP+ and providing two 100GbE QSFP28 uplinks to the core network. OS10’s EVPN-VXLAN and MLAG features deliver automated overlay provisioning and sub-700 ns latency. Benefit/Outcome: Achieves 1.12 Tbps non-blocking throughput, reduces east-west traffic delay by 40%, and maintains >99.99% uptime with dual PSUs and 3-year 4-hour service support.
Scenario: A large university uses the S4128F-ON at its network aggregation layer to connect departmental 1GbE switches and research lab servers over 10GbE SFP+ links, with two 100GbE uplinks to the campus data center. OS10’s robust QoS, ACL-based microsegmentation, and Zero-Touch Provisioning streamline traffic prioritization for voice, video conferencing, and data analysis. Benefit/Outcome: Delivers guaranteed bandwidth for critical educational applications, simplifies network management by 30%, and ensures 4-hour hardware replacement under SLA to support 24/7 campus operations.
Scenario: A telecommunications operator deploys the S4128F-ON at regional edge PoPs to aggregate COTS servers running vCPE and vEPC workloads. The 28×10GbE SFP+ ports connect to server racks, while the two 100GbE QSFP28 uplinks interface with the 5G core. OS10’s segment routing, EVPN, and automation APIs enable rapid service orchestration and network slicing. Benefit/Outcome: Accelerates new service rollout by 50%, reduces rack space by 40%, and delivers carrier-grade reliability with dual PSUs and 4-hour, 3-year support.
