Fanless Small Business Connectivity With Copper Or Fiber

SF352-08P is a fanless, managed Fast Ethernet switch with eight 10/100 PoE+ access ports and two fixed Gigabit copper/SFP combo uplinks. Its desktop chassis and external AC adapter suit small-business installations serving wired endpoints and powered devices. Each combo uplink provides a choice of copper or fiber connectivity rather than two independent connections. The Cisco 350 Series belongs to the Cisco Small Business networking line, with configurable traffic segmentation and endpoint security rather than unmanaged operation. The discontinued SF352-08MP provides a higher 128W endpoint-power budget in the same eight-port access configuration.

Technical Details

5.6 Gbps switching capacity supports wire-speed switching across the installed interfaces, while 4.17 Mpps forwarding describes performance with 64-byte packets. A shared 62W PoE budget limits simultaneous endpoint allocations despite individual powered ports supporting 30W. Static IPv4 routing supports 990 routes, and PBR provides next-hop selection through access-control rules; these capabilities place the switch in the Layer 2+ category. SF352-08P has 512 MB of memory, 256 MB of flash and a dynamically shared 1.5 MB packet buffer. STP, RSTP and MSTP provide loop-control options, while LACP supports link aggregation. DHCP snooping, IP Source Guard and Dynamic ARP Inspection provide endpoint-facing security controls. Hardware stacking is not supported.

Ordering

Order SF352-08P new sealed or certified refurbished, with ORM warranties of up to 3-year extended coverage for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with PoE output verified under load on every powered port, firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify the condition, quantity and regional ordering variant on the PO; 30-day returns apply to every condition, with terms applying. POs are accepted, government buyers have Net-30 terms, and RMA includes advance replacement, with regional stock and RMA coverage across the UK, EU, US and MEA.

Buying NotesKey Specs

Replacement chain extends beyond Business

Migration orders should specify C1300-8P-E-2G rather than discontinued CBS350-8P-E-2G-NA. The original replacement for SF352-08P itself reached end of sale on October 29, 2024.

Fiber connections require separate optics

Fiber connections require compatible SFP transceivers on the PO. SF352-08P supports MGBSX1 for multimode fiber or MGBLX1 for single-mode fiber; select the transceiver to match the installed fiber and required reach.

SF352-08P Use Case

Enterprise IP Surveillance with High-Power PoE+ and Fiber Uplink

In a multinational corporate campus, the SF352-08P-24 delivers 24 PoE+ ports (382 W total budget) to power high-resolution PTZ cameras while using its 2 Gigabit copper/SFP combo and 2 SFP ports for redundant fiber backhaul. This consolidated solution reduces rack space and separate power infrastructure, centralizes video traffic for real-time monitoring, and guarantees uninterrupted 24/7 security operations with low latency and high bandwidth.

Scalable VoIP Deployment in a High-Density Contact Center

A 150-seat contact center leverages the SF352-08P-24 to power VoIP phones directly via 24 PoE+ ports (382 W budget), ensuring HD voice quality and inline remote powering for future desk expansions. Dual SFP and copper/SFP combo uplinks deliver carrier-grade redundancy to the core network. The result: streamlined installation, elimination of separate power injectors, predictable QoS, and rapid scale-out of voice services with minimal downtime.

Campus-Wide Wi-Fi 6 Access Point Aggregation over Fiber

A university IT team deploys SF352-08P-24 in multiple wiring closets to power and connect up to 24 Wi-Fi 6 access points per closet, utilizing the 382 W PoE+ budget for high-performance APs. The switch’s 2 Gigabit copper/SFP combo plus 2 dedicated SFP ports provide seamless fiber backhaul across buildings. Benefits include simplified network topology, consistent high-density wireless coverage, low-latency roaming for students and staff, and future-proof scalability.

Best For

Legacy Hardware Refresh

When replacing an installed SF302-08PP-K9-NA, SF352-08P-K9-NA is the matching North American replacement designation. The predecessor reached end of sale on October 4, 2018. Match the complete regional identifier and confirm the required order condition before raising the PO.

Local Routing Requirements

When a small office needs local routing between segmented networks, the switch supports 128 IP interfaces on physical ports, aggregation groups, VLAN interfaces or loopback interfaces. Specify the interface plan and static next hops before the PO, rather than assuming dynamic route learning.

Configuration Bench Staging

When staging a managed-switch configuration before installation, one port-mirroring session can copy traffic from eight source ports to a single destination. Identify the analyzer connection and prepare the management configuration before the PO, including the condition required for repeatable bench setup.

Not Suitable If

Gigabit speeds on powered access ports

SF352-08P powered access ports stop at 100 Mbps. C1300-8P-E-2G provides eight Gigabit access ports and is the current endpoint of the replacement chain.

10G fiber uplinks to distribution

SF352-08P fixed combo uplinks operate at 1G, not 10G. Selecting the SFP connection instead of its shared copper connector does not increase the available uplink speed.

Questions & Answers

What does the SF352-08P part number mean?

SF352-08P identifies a Cisco 350 Series Fast Ethernet managed model: SF352 is the model prefix, 08 identifies eight access ports, and P identifies the powered-port configuration. The configuration includes PoE+, two Gigabit copper/SFP combo uplinks and a 62W shared budget. SF352-08P-K9-NA is the North American ordering variant.

How is SF352-08P managed?

SF352-08P supports browser management over HTTP or HTTPS, Textview CLI through console, SSH or Telnet, and SNMP management. Network-level tools include Smart Network Application and FindIT Network Manager with its probe. Cisco Active Advisor supports inventory visibility. These are separate management paths, not hardware stacking or additional physical ports.

What is the lifecycle status of SF352-08P?

SF352-08P reached end of sale on January 29, 2023, and its last date of Cisco support is January 31, 2028. Software maintenance ended January 29, 2024. The original replacement, CBS350-8P-E-2G-NA, is also discontinued; its replacement chain now reaches C1300-8P-E-2G.

Which condition and warranty options does ORM Systems offer for SF352-08P?

ORM Systems offers SF352-08P new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units. Returns are 30 days on every condition; terms apply. Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty is separately bounded by January 31, 2028, subject to eligibility.

Which older switch does SF352-08P replace?

SF352-08P replaces SF302-08PP in matching AU, EU, JP, NA and UK ordering variants, including SF302-08PP-K9-NA to SF352-08P-K9-NA. The older model reached end of sale on October 4, 2018. Replacement orders need the complete regional identifier rather than the shortened model name alone.

How much PoE power does the eight-port Cisco 350 configuration provide?

The SF352-08P eight-port Cisco 350 configuration provides a shared 62W PoE budget, with 30W available to an individual powered port until the total budget is reached. Eight powered connectors do not represent eight simultaneous 30W allocations. Size the connected endpoints against their combined requested power before specifying the order.

Which uplinks and fiber optics does the eight-port Cisco 350 PoE+ model support?

The SF352-08P eight-port Cisco 350 PoE+ model supports two 1G copper/SFP combo uplinks, with only one connector active per combo connection. MGBSX1 supports multimode fiber to 500 m, while MGBLX1 supports single-mode fiber to 10 km. Specify the appropriate transceivers separately when ordering fiber connectivity.

Can the Cisco 350 Series route between VLANs?

Yes, the Cisco 350 Series supports static IPv4 routing between configured interfaces, with 990 static routes and 128 IP interfaces. Interfaces can be physical ports, aggregation groups, VLAN interfaces or loopback interfaces. SF352-08P also supports PBR, but its routing configuration should be planned around static next hops rather than assumed dynamic routing features.

Can SF352-08P be installed in a rack?

Yes, SF352-08P can be installed in a standard 19-inch rack using mounting brackets, although its 279.4 mm chassis width places it in the desktop form-factor category. Rack installation requires one rack unit of space. Confirm the mounting hardware and external-adapter arrangement on the order before installation.

What is the difference between SF352-08P and SF352-08MP?

SF352-08MP provides a 128W PoE budget, compared with 62W on SF352-08P, while both configurations have eight Fast Ethernet powered access ports. Both models are discontinued. SF352-08P suits legacy replacement orders retaining the lower shared allocation; SF352-08MP suits matching legacy installations requiring the higher endpoint-power allocation.

What is the difference between SF352-08P and SF350-24P?

SF352-08P uses an external AC adapter, whereas SF350-24P uses an internal universal AC supply. Both models are discontinued, so this distinction primarily matters when matching existing installations and spares. SF352-08P suits orders retaining an external-adapter arrangement; SF350-24P suits installations retaining direct AC connection to an internal supply.

What is the difference between SF352-08P and C1300-8P-E-2G?

C1300-8P-E-2G provides eight Gigabit access ports, whereas SF352-08P provides eight 10/100 access ports. C1300-8P-E-2G is the current endpoint of the replacement chain through discontinued CBS350-8P-E-2G-NA. SF352-08P suits like-for-like legacy sparing; C1300-8P-E-2G suits migration orders requiring Gigabit connections at the access ports.

What does SF352-08P-K9-EU-RF mean?

SF352-08P-K9-EU-RF is a Cisco-remanufactured EU-region ordering variant, not ORM Systems' certified refurbished condition. The -RF designation identifies Cisco remanufacturing, whereas ORM certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify the intended condition separately on the purchase order.
