160 Gbps of stack bandwidth carries the Catalyst 3650 StackWise-160 ring, and nine switches is the stack limit. A full ring of n switches needs n cables; a chain uses n minus 1 cable and runs at half bandwidth with no redundant connection. STACK-T2-50CM installs into StackWise adapters in the rear StackWise ports, and switches ordered without stacking need adapter blanks removed before adapters are fitted. The 2.60 in. bend radius and 5.20 in. coiled diameter protect the 0.5 m cable path. Power off switches that join or leave the stack, then verify full bandwidth on the stack LEDs.

A buyer completing a redundant Catalyst 3650 ring counts one cable for each switch in the stack. Five members need five data stack cables, and nine members is the StackWise-160 limit. Measure the return link before the PO when top-to-bottom reach exceeds 0.5 m.

STACK-T2-50CM is the Cisco 50CM Type 2 Stacking Cable for Catalyst 3650 StackWise-160 data stacks. The 50CM segment marks the 0.5 m cable length, and T2 marks the Type 2 StackWise cable used with the Catalyst 3650 stack adapters. It carries StackWise-160 links at 160 Gbps.
STACK-T2-50CM fits Catalyst 3650 switches with StackWise adapters installed in the rear StackWise ports. Catalyst 3650 and Catalyst 3850 cannot share one switch stack. Catalyst 3850 uses STACK-T1-50CM for 0.5 m StackWise cabling, and Catalyst 3650 uses Type 2 cables.
A Catalyst 3650 uses StackWise-160 Type 2 stacking cables: STACK-T2-50CM, STACK-T2-1M and STACK-T2-3M. STACK-T2-50CM is the 0.5 m choice for adjacent switches. The family also uses StackWise adapters in the rear StackWise ports, with adapter blanks removed when stacking is added.
STACK-T2-50CM uses StackWise-160, a 160 Gbps data-stack technology for Catalyst 3650 switches. The stack runs as one switching unit with an active switch and standby switch. Stateful switchover, one IP address, one configuration and local switching belong to the StackWise-160 stack.
A Catalyst 3650 full ring needs one STACK-T2-50CM per switch when 0.5 m reaches every adjacent link. Four switches need four cables for a full ring. A chain uses one fewer cable and loses the redundant full-ring connection, so measure the return link.

STACK-T2-50CM= is the spare form of STACK-T2-50CM for the same 0.5 m Type 2 StackWise cable. The equals sign identifies the Cisco spare PID and does not change the Catalyst 3650 fit, StackWise-160 technology, 160 Gbps stack bandwidth or cable length.
STACK-T2-50CM does not override Catalyst 3650 feature-set stacking rules. LAN Base switches stack only with LAN Base switches, IP Base only with IP Base, and IP Services only with IP Services. A mixed LAN Base stack with IP Base or IP Services is not supported.

Cisco stopped selling STACK-T2-50CM on 12 September 2024, and Cisco service ends on 31 May 2028. STACK-T2-50CM serves Catalyst 3650 StackWise-160 stacks, and the affected stack-cable family includes the 0.5 m, 1 m and 3 m Type 2 cables.
