The Cisco 10000 eight slot chassis is a high-performance modular router platform featuring eight line-card slots, one PRE3 (Performance Route Engine 3) and one DC Power Entry Module (PEM) for centralized power distribution and DC redundancy.
The chassis offers eight full-height, full-width line-card slots that support interface modules ranging from Gigabit Ethernet to OC-192/STM-64 and 10/40/100 Gigabit Ethernet.
PRE3 delivers up to 23 Gbps of forwarding performance, advanced control-plane features, extensive IPv4/IPv6 support, and up to 16 GB of DRAM for large routing tables and high-speed packet processing.
The DC Power Entry Module accepts −48 VDC input, offers N+1 module redundancy, hot-swap capability, and intelligent power monitoring for continuous operation and simplified maintenance.
Fully populated with eight supervisor engines and high-density line cards, the Cisco 10000 chassis delivers up to 1.5 Tbps of system switching capacity and up to 450 Mpps of forwarding performance.
It employs multiple variable-speed, front-to-back cooling fans with hot-swap capability and integrated airflow monitoring to maintain optimal temperature under full load.
