The 12406E/120 is a 120 Gbps enhanced fabric module designed to deliver ultra-high bandwidth for the Cisco 12406 Router, featuring three Scalable Fabric Cards (SFC) and two Connectivity Switch Cards (CSC).
The 12406E/120 module is fully compatible with Cisco 12406 chassis running Cisco IOS XR and cannot be installed in other 12000 Series platforms.
This enhanced module provides five fabric planes—three SFCs for chassis switching and two CSCs for system interconnect—to deliver non-blocking, meshed connectivity across all line cards.
SFCs handle high-speed data forwarding across the chassis, while CSCs manage control-plane connectivity between supervisor engines and line cards, ensuring balanced data and control traffic.
