The HP AW538A is an 8 Gbps low-wavelength (1310 nm) 25 km single-mode Fibre Channel SFP transceiver designed for HP B-series SAN and ProCurve switches.
The AW538A supports a native Fibre Channel rate of 8 Gbps and is backwards compatible with 4 Gbps and 2 Gbps links.
Using single-mode fiber, the AW538A can reliably transmit up to 25 kilometers.
The AW538A requires standard single-mode (OS1/OS2) 9/125 µm fiber optic cable.
