C2960S-STACK is a Cisco FlexStack hot-swappable stacking module for 20 Gbps stacks on Catalyst 2960-S LAN Base switches. The edge over CAB-STK-E-0.5M is the rear stack module; that cable only links switches after each switch has a FlexStack module. Catalyst 2960-X uses C2960X-STACK instead. 20 Gbps of stack throughput applies when the FlexStack ring is complete, and an incomplete or failed link leaves half bandwidth with no redundant connection. Four switches is the Catalyst 2960-S stack cap, so each member needs its own module and a separate FlexStack cable. C2960S-STACK is hot-swappable in a powered switch, but a switch must be powered off before it is added to or removed from an existing stack. The module snaps into the rear slot after the blank cover is removed, and the side screws secure finger-tight. Stack 1 and Stack 2 cable orientation must match the cable tab direction on the rear ports.
