CBS250-24T-4X-UK is a fanless, smart managed Layer 2+ switch with 24 Gigabit copper access ports and four fixed 10G SFP+ uplinks. The 1U rack chassis belongs to the Cisco Business 250 Series and connects computers, printers and other wired devices in small-business networks. Its dedicated upstream connections leave the copper access interfaces available for endpoints, while automatic voice VLAN assignment separates voice traffic for appropriate priority handling. The access ports do not deliver PoE; the discontinued CBS250-24P-4X-UK sibling adds PoE+ for powered devices. Browser-based administration and Cisco Business Dashboard provide local and centralized management options. Static IPv4 routing supports 32 routes across 16 IP interfaces for local subnet connectivity rather than dynamic route exchange. CBS250-24T-4X-UK carries 512 MB of DRAM and 256 MB of flash for control software and image storage. A dynamically shared 1.5 MB packet buffer handles traffic bursts across the interfaces. STP/RSTP/MSTP provide loop-control options, and LACP permits four aggregation groups with eight active ports per group. Eight hardware queues support strict-priority or weighted round-robin scheduling so traffic classes can receive different forwarding treatment. Administrators can apply 512 access-control rules to filter or rate-limit traffic on ingress or egress. RADIUS supports management authentication, while IGMP snooping limits multicast delivery to requesting receivers. Cisco Business switches also support dual firmware images to retain an alternate image during software upgrades.
