The HP MSA 1040 Advanced Virtualized Upgrade LTU is a perpetual license key that unlocks advanced virtualization features on the HP MSA 1040 storage array, including enhanced VMware and Hyper-V integration, array-based snapshots, clones, and thin provisioning.
It enables VAAI for VMware vSphere, ODX integration for Microsoft Hyper-V, array-based snapshots and clones, automated storage provisioning, host-level thin provisioning, and enhanced multipathing.
Log in to the HP Storage Management Utility (SMU), navigate to Configuration > Firmware & License > Upgrade, upload the license file, and click Commit to apply the LTU.
You need HP MSA 1040 firmware version 3.x or later and HP SMU version 1010 or higher; ensure your array controllers are running compatible firmware before applying the license.
