The HPE MSL3040 LTO-6 Data Failover LTU (Q8K97A) is an optional software license enabling automatic drive failover for LTO-6 tape drives within an HPE MSL3040 library.
With this LTU, in the event of an LTO-6 drive failure, tape jobs automatically switch to an alternate LTO-6 drive, reducing downtime and administrative overhead.
The license supports all half-height HPE LTO-6 Ultrium tape drives installed in the MSL3040 library running firmware version 3.x or later.
