40 Gbps Meraki Stacking links match the 40 Gigabit cable data rate for MS210, MS225, MS250, MS350, MS410 and MS425 switches. Eight switches is the physical-stack member cap, and like-model stacking is the rule except for an MS210 and MS225 mixed stack. A full ring uses one cable per member, with the bottom switch cabled back to the top switch. MA-CBL-40G-1M uses QSFP+ passive Twinax construction and 40GQSFP+Cu standard labeling. Physical stack setup starts with switches powered off and links disconnected. Active stack member election depends on power timing, and the active switch manages the stack functions. MS425 flexible stacking uses chosen switch ports, and the QSFP+ ports serve as stack ports.

A buyer replacing a failed short stack link already has a 40G Meraki stack with 1 m cable paths. The replacement must match QSFP+ passive Twinax construction, the 40GQSFP+Cu standard and the same Meraki stacking-cable group. Count one cable for each failed link before the PO.
A buyer building a new MS250 or MS350 stack needs like-model members and enough 1 m links to close the ring. Eight switches is the member cap for a physical stack. Count the switches, verify every cable path is within 1 m and order the ring count before the PO.

Start with the switches powered off and links disconnected, connect stack port 1 to the next switch stack port 2, and continue until the last switch returns to the first. The cable head must align with the stack port before screws are finger-tightened.
MA-CBL-40G-1M is the 1 m cable, and MA-CBL-40G-3M is the 3 m cable in the same 40G Meraki Stacking family. The 1 m cable fits short adjacent paths with less slack. The 3 m cable fits measured paths that exceed 1 m.
MA-CBL-40G-1M is a 40 Gigabit QSFP+ passive Twinax stack cable for MS425, MS410, MS350, MS250, MS225 and MS210. MA-CBL-100G-1M is the 1 m 100 Gigabit QSFP28 stack cable for MS150, MS355 and MS450. The same length does not make the cable fit the other stacking family.
Cisco stopped selling MA-CBL-40G-1M on 29 October 2026. It serves MS425, MS410, MS350, MS250, MS225 and MS210 stacks, and Cisco service ends on 31 October 2031. No replacement PID is named for this Meraki legacy switching accessory.
