PWR-RPS2300 is a 2300W AC redundant power system for Catalyst 2960-X, Catalyst 2960-S, Catalyst 3750-E, Catalyst 3560-E, Meraki MS220, and ISR router RPS builds. The chassis accepts one or two matching 1150W AC or 750W AC modules and provides external backup for one or two failed devices. A Cisco Catalyst 2960-X power supply build uses CAB-RPS2300-E= and a separate AC source. Catalyst 2960-X 24PSQ-L switches do not accept RPS backup, and Catalyst 2960-XR switches use internal PWR-C2 power modules instead. The RPS 2300 chassis allows hot insertion of external devices and modular power supplies. PWR675-AC-RPS-N1= is the older RPS 675; the RPS 2300 adds dual power-supply bays and two active backups.

2300W total maximum output uses 12V DC and -52V DC rails, so the connected device and RPS cable must match the RPS receptacle. Two 1150W AC modules deliver 540W at 12V DC and 1600W at -52V DC; two 750W AC modules deliver 540W at 12V DC and 832W at -52V DC. 1150W modules need 115-240V AC, 50-60 Hz, and 12-6A per module. 750W modules take 100-240V AC, 50-60 Hz, and 10-5A per module. The IEC 60320 C13 inlet and 15A cord rating set the branch-circuit and cord check. PWR-RPS2300 measures 4.5 x 44.5 x 43.6 cm and weighs 4.9 kg without supplies. -5°C to 45°C operation, 170000 Hours MTBF with two power supplies and blower, and 45 CFM blower output set the rack check.

A wiring closet uses Catalyst 2960-X, Catalyst 2960-S, Catalyst 3750-E, or Catalyst 3560-E switches with fixed internal supplies. PWR-RPS2300 gives one chassis six RPS ports and active backup for one or two failed devices. Before the PO, confirm the switch has an RPS receptacle and specify CAB-RPS2300-E= for these switch families.
A 48-port PoE closet needs RPS coverage during an internal supply failure. PWR-RPS2300 with two 1150W AC modules backs up two 48-port switches delivering 15.4W on all ports. A 750W AC module backs up 24 ports at 15.4W or 48 ports at 7W, so match the module wattage to the PoE load.
An ISR rack with Cisco 2811, 2821, 2851, or 3825 routers uses external RPS backup instead of an internal second supply. PWR-RPS2300 connects with CAB-RPS2300= for network devices outside the E-Series switch cable group. Before the PO, check the router RPS adapter and the 1.5 m cable path.
Catalyst 2960-XR 740W PoE
PWR-RPS2300 does not provide external RPS for Catalyst 2960-XR switches. Catalyst 2960XR-48FPD-I and 2960XR-48FPS-I take PWR-C2-1025WAC= for second-supply redundancy instead.
Mixed RPS module wattages
PWR-RPS2300 does not run one 750W AC module with one 1150W AC module. Use C3K-PWR-1150WAC for 1150W RPS builds instead.
Catalyst 2960-X 24PSQ-L switches
PWR-RPS2300 does not support the Catalyst 2960-X 24PSQ-L RPS connection. The model has no external RPS alternative PID for redundancy.

PWR-RPS2300 is the Cisco Redundant Power System 2300 and blower with no power supply. PWR-RPS2300= is the spare RPS 2300 chassis form, PWR-RPS2300++ is another chassis ordering form, and PWR-RPS2300++= is its spare form. RPS2300-1150BDL and RPS2300-750BDL are bundle forms with power supplies.
