The Synology RS3621xs+ is a 12-bay rackmount NAS designed for enterprise use. “Diskless” means it ships without hard drives, allowing you to choose and install the drives that best fit your capacity and performance needs.
The RS3621xs+ has 12 drive bays that support 2.5” or 3.5” SATA HDDs and SSDs. You can also expand up to 36 drives by connecting two DX1215 expansion units.
With 12 bays and 18 TB drives, the RS3621xs+ supports up to 216 TB of raw storage. Using two DX1215 expansions, total raw capacity can exceed 648 TB.
It supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6, RAID 10, JBOD, and Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR) for flexible protection and efficient space usage.
