Powered Access for Small Businesses With Mixed-Media Uplinks

SG350X-24MP-K9 is a managed, Layer 2+ access switch with 24 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ ports and four fixed 10G uplinks in a 1U rack-mount chassis. Two uplinks use dedicated SFP+ cages, while two provide 10GBASE-T/SFP+ combo connections, giving small-business access networks a choice of copper or fiber toward distribution. The Cisco 350X Series serves wired endpoints, IP phones, wireless access points and surveillance cameras without a removable uplink module. Compared with the discontinued SG350X-24P-K9-NA, this model provides the larger aggregate endpoint-power allocation. Hardware stacking joins four members under one management address rather than grouping separately configured switches. Private VLANs separate endpoint traffic, while automatic voice VLAN assignment and quality-of-service treatment distinguish voice traffic from ordinary data flows.

SG350X-24MP-K9 price for new stock is $3,734.85. SG350X-24MP-K9 refurb price is $729.75. SG350X-24MP-K9 is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

Technical Details

128 Gbps switching capacity supports wire-speed, nonblocking forwarding, and 95.23 Mpps describes handling of minimum-size packets. 382W is shared across powered endpoints, so per-port power settings must fit the aggregate allowance rather than assume simultaneous maximum output. Static IPv4 and IPv6 routing supports communication between local subnets; dynamic routing is not part of this feature set. SG350X-24MP-K9 supports 990 IPv4 static routes and 128 IP interfaces for sizing routed segments. The SG350X-24MP uses 512 MB of DRAM and 256 MB of flash, while a 1.5 MB packet buffer is dynamically shared across ports. STP/RSTP/MSTP provides loop prevention, and LACP supports aggregated links. Management uses an HTTP/HTTPS interface or full and menu CLIs, with SSH and SNMP v3 available for remote administration. DHCP snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection and IP Source Guard associate permitted traffic with learned bindings. Active cooling requires airflow and is not fanless.

Ordering

ORM Systems offers SG350X-24MP-K9 new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with PoE output verified under load on every powered port, firmware verified and configurations wiped to factory default. Specify condition, quantity and required accessories on the purchase order. ORM's warranty is up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units; returns are 30 days on every condition, terms apply. Enterprise and volume orders support POs, Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement, with regional stock/RMA across the UK, EU, US and MEA.

Buying Notes

Buying NotesKey Specs

Support cutoff and migration

SG350X-24MP-K9 requires a migration decision before October 31, 2026, when Cisco service ends. The original successor CBS350-24FP-4X-NA is also discontinued; C1300-24FP-4X is the current migration target.

Optics require separate specification

Fiber links require separately specified optics: SG350X-24MP-K9 accepts SFP-10G-SR= for multimode fiber and SFP-10G-LR= for single-mode fiber. Match the transceiver at each end before issuing the purchase order.

Stack links consume uplinks

SG350X-24MP-K9 stack orders must reserve uplink connections for inter-switch links. SG350X, SG350XG and SX350X members can share a stack; SFP-H10GB-CU1M=, SFP-H10GB-CU3M= and SFP-H10GB-CU5M= provide supported copper interconnects.

Best For

Powered Endpoint Refresh

When a powered-endpoint refresh adds devices above ordinary PoE+ demand, four access ports can supply 60W PoE. Those ports still share the chassis allocation with other powered connections rather than receiving an independent reserve. Confirm endpoint power compatibility and assign high-draw devices before finalizing the port-and-power plan on the purchase order.

Existing Stack Expansion

When an existing hardware stack needs another member, the 350X family supports ring and chain layouts with master and backup control. Expansion should preserve the intended topology rather than simply append another network cable. Specify the new member's stack role and the required ring or chain connections on the purchase order.

Replacement Unit Staging

When a replacement unit must be configured before a maintenance window, dual software images and the front USB Type A port support image and configuration handling during staging. The 350X family also accepts text-editable configuration files. Specify the intended image, saved configuration and staging acceptance checks before releasing the hardware order.

Not Suitable If

Cisco support beyond October 2026

Cisco service for SG350X-24MP-K9 ends October 31, 2026. C1300-24FP-4X is the current migration target after the discontinued CBS350-24FP-4X-NA, retaining 24 Gigabit access ports.

Fanless operation in occupied rooms

SG350X-24MP-K9 uses two fans and produces 43.3 dB at 0°C to 30°C; active cooling prevents silent, fanless operation in occupied rooms.

More than four hardware stack members

The 350X hardware stack stops at four members. A design requiring five or more switches under one stack control plane exceeds this member limit.

Questions & Answers

What does the SG350X-24MP-K9 part number mean?

SG350X-24MP-K9 identifies the 350X Gigabit stackable model with 24 PoE+ access ports and a 382W budget. The 24MP segment distinguishes this powered configuration from 24P models with a smaller budget. SG350X-24MP-K9-NA adds the North American regional suffix, while SG350X-24MP-K9-EU is a European Union ordering form.

How is SG350X-24MP-K9 managed?

SG350X-24MP-K9 is managed through an HTTP/HTTPS web interface, full or menu CLI over the RJ-45 console, SSH or Telnet, and SNMP v1/v2c/v3. The 350X family also supports Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager, an embedded FindIT Network Probe, Active Advisor, and Cisco Network Plug and Play with PnP Connect.

How much PoE power does SG350X-24MP-K9 provide?

SG350X-24MP-K9 provides a shared 382W PoE budget across 24 powered access ports. Four ports support 60W PoE, while remaining ports deliver up to 30W each, subject to available power. Simultaneous maximum draw on all ports exceeds the shared allowance, so endpoint allocation must stay within the total budget.

What uplinks and optics does the 350X 24-port PoE+ switch use?

The 350X 24-port PoE+ configuration uses four fixed 10G uplinks: two dedicated SFP+ ports and two 10GBASE-T/SFP+ combo pairs. Each combo pair activates either its copper connector or its SFP+ cage, not both. SFP-10G-SR= supports multimode fiber; SFP-10G-LR= supports single-mode fiber. Specify optics separately to match the link media.

Can SG350X-24MP-K9 join a hardware stack?

Yes, SG350X-24MP-K9 supports hardware stacks of four members using 10G fiber or copper interconnects. SG350X, SG350XG and SX350X models can share a stack. Supported copper cables include SFP-H10GB-CU1M=, SFP-H10GB-CU3M= and SFP-H10GB-CU5M=; their respective lengths are 1 m, 3 m and 5 m.

What routing capabilities does SG350X-24MP-K9 support?

SG350X-24MP-K9 supports static IPv4 and IPv6 routing rather than dynamic route exchange. IPv4 operation supports 990 static routes and 128 IP interfaces; IPv6 supports 245 static routes and 106 IPv6 interfaces. Routing interfaces can attach to physical ports, link aggregation groups, VLAN interfaces or loopbacks for communication between local network segments.

Is SG350X-24MP-K9 end-of-sale or end-of-support?

SG350X-24MP-K9 is discontinued: end-of-sale was October 30, 2021, and support ends October 31, 2026. Software maintenance ended October 30, 2022. The original successor, CBS350-24FP-4X-NA, is also discontinued; its migration target is C1300-24FP-4X. Orders requiring Cisco service beyond the cutoff need a separate lifecycle decision.

What condition and warranty options does ORM Systems offer for SG350X-24MP-K9?

ORM Systems offers SG350X-24MP-K9 new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on refurbished units. Both conditions have 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's separate Limited Lifetime warranty is subject to eligibility, and Cisco service ends October 31, 2026.

Which older switches did SG350X-24MP-K9 replace?

SG350X-24MP-K9 replaced the discontinued SF550X-24MP-K9-AU, SF550X-24MP-K9-EU, SF550X-24MP-K9-NA and SF550X-24MP-K9-UK regional models, whose end-of-sale date was June 18, 2020. The discontinued SF550X-24MP-K9-CN also migrated to the matching regional SG350X model. The change moved their 24 access connections from Fast Ethernet to Gigabit Ethernet while retaining powered access and stacking.

What is the difference between SG350X-24MP-K9 and SG350X-24P-K9-NA?

SG350X-24MP-K9 has a 382W PoE budget, where SG350X-24P-K9-NA has 195W. Both are discontinued 350X models, so this comparison concerns existing installations rather than a current successor. The 24MP configuration fits greater aggregate endpoint power demand; the 24P configuration fits smaller powered loads on the same access-port count.

What is the difference between SG350X-24MP-K9 and SG350X-48P-K9-NA?

SG350X-48P-K9-NA provides 48 Gigabit PoE+ access ports, where SG350X-24MP-K9 provides 24. Both models are discontinued. The 48-port configuration serves buyers consolidating more wired connections into one chassis; the 24-port configuration serves closets whose endpoint count does not justify doubling the physical access-port density.

What is the difference between SG350X-24MP-K9 and C1300-24FP-4X?

C1300-24FP-4X uses four 10G SFP+ uplinks, while SG350X-24MP-K9 combines two dedicated SFP+ uplinks with two 10GBASE-T/SFP+ combo pairs. C1300-24FP-4X is the current migration target after the discontinued CBS350-24FP-4X-NA. The newer configuration fits SFP+-only uplink plans; the older 350X hardware fits established deployments using copper combo uplinks.

How much power does SG350X-24MP-K9 draw?

SG350X-24MP-K9 draws a worst-case 468.8W with PoE at 110V AC, or 458.4W at 220V AC. System-only consumption is 53.2W and 54.1W respectively. Use the with-PoE figure for AC circuit sizing, not the 382W endpoint budget, which does not represent total wall power.
