WS-C3650-48FD-S is a managed Layer 3 access switch with 48 Gigabit PoE+ ports, two fixed 10G SFP+ uplinks, two fixed 1G SFP uplinks, and the IP Base feature set. The Cisco Catalyst 3650 Series uses a 1U rack-mount chassis for enterprise access deployments. Uplinks are built in rather than supplied through a removable network card.
WS-C3650-48FD-S price for new stock is $4,719.75. WS-C3650-48FD-S refurb price is $177.22. WS-C3650-48FD-S is in stock and available for free next-day delivery. (terms applied)

176 Gbps switching capacity and 104.16 Mpps forwarding establish WS-C3650-48FD-S processing limits. The 109.4W consumption figure measures operation at 100% traffic without PoE loading; it is not total consumption with powered endpoints connected.
WS-C3650-48FD-S is available new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with PoE output verified under load on every powered port, firmware verified, and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify condition, quantity, and required accessories on the purchase order. ORM warranties provide up to a 3-year extended term for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units; returns are 30 days on every condition, terms apply. For enterprise and volume orders, POs are accepted, government buyers receive Net-30, and RMA includes advance replacement.

In a large university campus deployment, the Cisco Catalyst 3650 48-port Full PoE switch delivers 740W of PoE power for Wi-Fi 6 access points, VoIP phones and security cameras, while its dual 10G uplinks aggregate traffic to the core network. Leveraging IP Base Layer 3 routing and QoS, IT teams implement dynamic VLAN segmentation and apply traffic prioritization for real-time voice and video. Outcome: seamless high-density wireless coverage, single-pane PoE management, and predictable application performance across 48 endpoints.
A multinational retailer standardizes branch office networking on Cisco Catalyst 3650 48-port Full PoE switches to power IP telephony systems, surveillance cameras and access control readers. Built-in IP Base routing supports OSPF stub areas and static routes, simplifying WAN connectivity to regional data centers. With advanced security features—dynamic ARP inspection, DHCP snooping and ACL enforcement—the solution protects against lateral threats. Outcome: reduced rack footprint, lower capital and operational costs, and a hardened network edge with deterministic performance.
In a manufacturing plant, the Catalyst 3650 48-port Full PoE switch powers industrial sensors, PLCs and HD security cameras on the factory floor. Its robust 10G uplinks feed real-time video streams and telemetry into the SCADA system, while sFlow analytics and embedded IOS XE enable proactive monitoring and automated remediation. Outcome: converged industrial and security network with high-availability uplinks, centralized management, granular traffic visibility and zero-touch device onboarding.
For software-defined access staging with an optional Cisco DNA subscription, an IP Base installation is limited to three virtual networks. Keep the proposed segmentation within that entitlement and distinguish the software subscription from the base hardware license. Confirm the virtual-network count and required entitlement before the PO.
For spare-hardware orders serving multiple regions, ORM supports regional stock and RMA across UK, EU, US, and MEA. Keep the destination and spare allocation on the procurement record rather than treating a combined quantity as one site's requirement. Specify the condition, destination, and regional allocation before ordering.
Four simultaneous 10G uplinks
WS-C3650-48FD-S provides two 10G uplinks plus two 1G uplinks. The current C9300L-48PF-4X-A replacement provides four 10G uplinks while retaining 48 full-PoE access ports.
Maximum PoE+ on one supply
48 ports at 30W require 1440W, exceeding the single-supply budget. Full PoE+ loading requires two PWR-C2-1025WAC units; specify an additional PWR-C2-1025WAC= supply.

WS-C3650-48FD-S identifies a Catalyst 3650 switch: WS-C3650 is the family prefix, 48 is the Gigabit access-port count, F is the full-PoE configuration, D is the two-10G-uplink configuration, and S selects IP Base. The complete configuration also has two fixed 1G SFP uplinks.
The Catalyst 3650 Series supports local console CLI, remote CLI over SSH or Telnet, a web UI, SNMPv3, and Cisco Prime Infrastructure. Select the management path during staging and configure the required access settings before deployment rather than treating this managed hardware as an unmanaged switch.
WS-C3650-48FD-S reached end-of-sale on October 31, 2021, and Cisco support ends October 31, 2026. C9300L-48PF-4X-A is its current replacement. New sealed stock or refurbished hardware does not restart that lifecycle, and the published support deadline remains relevant when planning maintenance or a hardware refresh.
WS-C3650-48FD-S is offered new sealed or certified refurbished, with ORM warranties of up to a 3-year extended term for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units. Returns are 30 days on every condition; terms apply. Cisco's Enhanced Limited Lifetime warranty covers the original owner, with Cisco support ending October 31, 2026.
WS-C3650-48FD-S includes perpetual IP Base licensing. Optional Cisco DNA Advantage and Cisco DNA Premier subscriptions have three-year minimum terms, with three- and five-year Cisco DNA Advantage options separate from the base license. Specify software entitlement independently from hardware condition and retain evidence of the applicable license.
WS-C3650-48FD-S replaces WS-C3560X-48PF-S and WS-C3560X-48U-S, which reached end-of-sale on October 30, 2016. Both older PIDs are discontinued. WS-C3560X-48U-S was a UPOE configuration, whereas this replacement provides PoE+; retain the endpoint power requirement when evaluating the migration rather than assuming equal power capabilities.
WS-C3650-48FD-S provides a 775W PoE budget, whereas WS-C3650-48PD-S provides 390W. Both configurations are discontinued. The higher budget suits legacy spare requirements with larger aggregate powered-endpoint allocations; the lower budget suits existing configurations whose endpoint allocation remains within 390W. Size against the actual connected load.
WS-C3650-48FD-S includes IP Base, whereas WS-C3650-48FD-E includes IP Services. Both models are discontinued. IP Base covers routed access; IP Services adds full enterprise routing such as EIGRP and BGPv4. The distinction matters for legacy configurations requiring those advanced routing functions, not for identifying a current hardware refresh.
C9300L-48PF-4X-A provides four 10G uplinks, whereas WS-C3650-48FD-S provides two 10G uplinks plus two 1G uplinks. C9300L-48PF-4X-A is the current replacement for the discontinued model. Legacy spare orders retain the original uplink arrangement; refresh orders requiring four simultaneous 10G connections use the replacement configuration.
WS-C3650-48FD-S-RF is the Cisco-remanufactured ordering form associated with WS-C3650-48FD-S, not ORM's certified refurbished condition. Keep those descriptions distinct on the purchase order. The remanufactured designation does not turn the discontinued hardware into its successor or extend Cisco support beyond October 31, 2026.
