WS-C3750-48TS-S provides 48 non-PoE 10/100 Mbps copper access connections and four fixed 1G SFP uplinks in a 1U rack-mount chassis. The managed Layer 3 switch runs the IP Base image and belongs to the Cisco Catalyst 3750 family, serving legacy enterprise access networks rather than Gigabit copper endpoint deployments. The configuration can retain an established access design when endpoint links do not require higher copper speeds. Rear stacking connections remain independent of the front-panel links, leaving access connections available when the chassis joins a unified switching system. WS-C3750-48PS-S adds PoE in the corresponding access configuration; both models are discontinued.

32 Gbps switching capacity carries traffic through the switching fabric, while 13.1 Mpps forwarding handles 64-byte packet workloads. Static routing, RIPv1, RIPv2 and EIGRP Stub support routed access without full dynamic-routing features; OSPF and BGPv4 require an enhanced software image. WS-C3750-48TS-S uses 128 MB of DRAM for runtime state and 16 MB of flash for software and configuration storage. Address learning accommodates 12000 MAC entries, while the 11000-route hardware total remains distinct from the protocols permitted by the installed image. Cisco IOS administration uses the console CLI, Telnet and browser-assisted setup, while CiscoWorks and Cisco Network Assistant provide network management. SSH requires the cryptographic software image when encrypted administration is needed. Four egress queues per port and Shaped Round Robin scheduling separate traffic classes, with strict priority queuing for selected flows. 66W consumption at full throughput provides a traffic-loaded reference for facility power planning; actual operating draw depends on the traffic load and operating conditions.
Order WS-C3750-48TS-S new sealed or certified refurbished, and specify the accessory quantities on the PO. Certified refurbished Catalyst 3750 units are inspected and bench-tested for clean boot, rated-speed port links and optics bay recognition, with firmware verified and configurations wiped to factory default. ORM warranties are up to a 3-year extended term for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units; 30-day returns apply to every condition, terms apply, and Cisco's original limited lifetime warranty ended July 31, 2015. Enterprise and volume orders accept POs, Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement, with regional stock/RMA in the UK, EU, US and MEA.

An existing stack needs another member when available copper connections run out but the established switching design will remain in service. CAB-STACK-50CM=, CAB-STACK-1M= and CAB-STACK-3M= provide different cable lengths for the rear interconnect. Measure the rack layout and specify the required cable length and quantity before the PO.
A legacy access installation needs consolidation when separate VLANs must remain available on a shared switching system. Support for 1005 VLANs is distinct from the available VLAN identifier range. Count the required VLANs, preserve the existing tagging plan and confirm the configuration scope before specifying the order.
An isolated staging environment needs a spare switch when production access policies must be reproduced before deployment. Support for 1000 access control entries makes a large policy set a capacity-check item rather than an assumption based on port density. Count the required entries and specify the intended software image before the PO.
Power for connected endpoints
The copper access ports do not deliver PoE. Phones, access points and other powered devices need a separate power source; this model cannot supply endpoint power through its network connections.
Gigabit copper access connections
The 48 copper access ports operate at 10/100 Mbps, not Gigabit Ethernet. The four Gigabit SFP uplinks do not increase the speed available to directly connected copper endpoints.
10G uplinks on this chassis
The four fixed SFP uplinks operate at 1G, and the chassis has no removable uplink-card option. A transceiver change cannot turn these connections into 10G uplinks.
Active Cisco hardware support
Cisco hardware support ended July 31, 2015. This model cannot satisfy a purchase requirement for an actively supported Cisco hardware lifecycle.

WS-C3750-48TS-S identifies the Catalyst 3750 48-port Fast Ethernet model with four Gigabit SFP uplinks and IP Base software. The WS-C3750 prefix names the family; 48 specifies the copper-port count; TS denotes this copper-access/SFP-uplink configuration; and the final S selects IP Base rather than IP Services.
WS-C3750-48TS-S is managed through the Cisco IOS CLI over console or Telnet, browser-based setup, Cisco Network Assistant and CiscoWorks using SNMPv1, v2c or v3. SSH and encrypted SNMPv3 require the cryptographic image. Specify that image when encrypted administration is required, and confirm which management tools the existing environment uses.
WS-C3750-48TS-S is discontinued: end of sale was July 5, 2010, and Cisco hardware support ended July 31, 2015. Its original replacement, WS-C3750V2-48TS-S, is also discontinued, with support ended May 31, 2021. Purchasing either model does not restart its Cisco hardware-support lifecycle.
ORM Systems offers WS-C3750-48TS-S new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty, or certified refurbished with up to 1 year. Every condition includes 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's original limited lifetime warranty ended with hardware support on July 31, 2015, so ORM's warranty covers the order.
WS-C3750-48TS-S ships with IP Base, and CD-3750-EMI= is the IP Services image upgrade for this hardware. IP Services adds advanced routing features beyond the base image. Specify the required image and upgrade rights separately from hardware condition so a refurbished purchase is not mistaken for an enhanced-image entitlement.
No, WS-C3750-48TS-S does not provide PoE on its 48 Fast Ethernet access ports. Phones, access points and other endpoints must have their own power source. The data-only configuration should not be confused with a PoE sibling simply because both models carry SFP uplinks.
WS-C3750-48TS-S uses four fixed 1G SFP uplinks, with GLC-SX-MM= for SX fiber links, GLC-LH-SM= for LH fiber links and GLC-T= for copper links. Select the transceiver for the installed medium and specify the required quantity; changing an SFP does not create a 10G uplink.
Catalyst 3750 StackWise stacks nine members over a 32 Gbps interconnect using dedicated rear stacking connections rather than access ports. CAB-STACK-50CM=, CAB-STACK-1M= and CAB-STACK-3M= are the available cable lengths. Match the running software revision to the existing stack and specify cables according to the rack layout.
No, WS-C3750-48TS-S cannot run OSPF or BGPv4 with IP Base; those protocols require IP Services. The included image supports static routing, RIPv1, RIPv2 and EIGRP Stub. The hardware can support 11000 unicast routes, but that total does not grant advanced protocols excluded from the installed image.
No, WS-C3750-48TS-S does not include redundant internal power supplies; its internal AC input operates at 100-240V AC. External backup power can be provided by PWR-RPS2300 or PWR675-AC-RPS-N1=. Specify the external power system separately when that form of backup is required rather than expecting a second internal supply.
RCKMNT-1RU= fits WS-C3750-48TS-S, a 1U switch measuring 44 mm high, 445 mm wide and 300 mm deep, with a weight of 4.1 kg. The kit is a spare rack-mount accessory. Confirm its inclusion and the usable rack depth when specifying an order for an existing cabinet.
Catalyst 3750 provides four egress queues per port, Shaped Round Robin scheduling and strict priority queuing for traffic differentiation. IP Base includes advanced QoS and rate limiting, so these controls do not require the IP Services routing image. Specify the intended traffic classes during configuration planning rather than treating all traffic identically.
WS-C3750-48PS-S provides PoE, while WS-C3750-48TS-S has data-only copper access ports. Both belong to the discontinued original 3750 generation. The PoE model suits legacy endpoints that need switch-supplied power; the data-only model suits separately powered devices where Ethernet-delivered power is not a purchase requirement.
WS-C3750-48TS-E includes IP Services, while WS-C3750-48TS-S includes IP Base on the same copper-access and SFP-uplink configuration. Both models are discontinued. The enhanced-image model suits legacy requirements for full OSPF or BGPv4 routing; the base-image model suits static routing, RIP and EIGRP Stub requirements.
WS-C3750-48TS-S carries 48 Fast Ethernet access ports, whereas WS-C3750-24TS-S carries 24. Both models are discontinued members of the original Catalyst 3750 family. The 48-port model suits a larger legacy endpoint count; the 24-port model suits a smaller purchase when additional copper connections are unnecessary.
