176 Gbps switching capacity establishes the maximum switching throughput for this 48-port Gigabit configuration. 800W of shared PoE power is available with the supplied PWR-C1-1100WAC; installing a second PWR-C1-1100WAC increases the available PoE budget to 1900W. 127.7W is the full-traffic consumption figure with C3850-NM-4-10G installed and no PoE loading, so that figure excludes powered endpoint demand and cannot represent the complete load for UPS sizing. WS-C3850-48U-L uses the UADP ASIC, 4 GB of DRAM and 2 GB of flash for forwarding and software operation. StackPower is separate, groups four members, and requires CAB-SPWR-30CM= or CAB-SPWR-150CM= cables for power interconnection.
WS-C3850-48U-L supports 60W UPOE per port, while WS-C3850-48F-L supports 30W PoE+ per port. Both are discontinued 48-port Gigabit LAN Base models. Within legacy inventories, the UPOE model addresses higher-draw compatible endpoints; the PoE+ model covers endpoints whose power requirements remain within the 30W per-port limit.
WS-C3850-48U-L carries LAN Base, while WS-C3850-48U-S carries IP Base. IP Base adds routed access and OSPF for routed access; LAN Base provides limited static routing. Both models are discontinued.
