The 1 m length separates it from the 0.5 m default cable by fitting side-by-side rack or wall layouts. It uses rear StackWise ports and approved StackWise cabling. This Catalyst 3750 stack cable also serves Catalyst 3750-E switches and EtherSwitch Service Modules where StackWise cabling is the stack interconnect. A full ring gives redundant StackWise cable connections; an incomplete chain runs at half bandwidth and has no redundant connection. CAB-STACK-3M is the same cable family for a 3 m path, not a bandwidth upgrade.

CAB-STACK-1M fits Catalyst 3750-X, Catalyst 3750-E and Catalyst 3750 switches with rear StackWise ports. EtherSwitch Service Modules also use StackWise as stack members. Catalyst 3560-X models are standalone switches in the 3750-X and 3560-X family, so CAB-STACK-1M is not for 3560-X stacking.
Catalyst 3750 uses CAB-STACK-1M for a 1 m StackWise cable. The same stack-cable group contains CAB-STACK-50CM for 0.5 m and CAB-STACK-3M for 3 m. The switch ships with a 0.5 m cable when no StackWise cable length is chosen.
CAB-STACK-1M carries 32 Gbps StackWise bandwidth on Catalyst 3750 stacks and 64 Gbps StackWise Plus throughput on Catalyst 3750-X stacks. StackWise presents the stack as one switching unit with one primary and one management address. A full ring preserves redundant StackWise cable connections.
CAB-STACK-1M count equals the number of switches for a full ring, so a 4-switch ring needs 4 cables. A chain of 4 switches uses 3 cables and lacks redundant StackWise connections. Measure the rear-panel path before choosing 1 m.
CAB-STACK-1M works in StackWise and StackWise Plus stacks of 9 switches. Full-ring cabling gives redundant cable connections; half-ring cabling gives half bandwidth and no redundant connection. A single failed cable in a half-ring layout can partition a 3-switch stack into two stacks.
Install CAB-STACK-1M by removing dust covers, inserting one end into a rear StackWise port, aligning the connector window and tightening the screws. Insert the other end into the next switch and tighten both screws. Power off a switch before adding or removing that stack member.
