This non-PoE model connects separately powered Ethernet devices rather than supplying endpoint power. 10 Gbps switching capacity provides nonblocking switching across the available connections. 7.4 Mpps forwarding performance uses 64-byte packets, so packet size matters when comparing forwarding figures. A dynamically shared 1 Mbit packet buffer serves traffic across all ports. CBS110-5T-D maintains 2000 MAC addresses for local Ethernet forwarding. Automatic MDI/MDI-X accommodates straight-through or crossover copper cables without selecting a port mode. Four hardware queues support 802.1p priority, priority queuing and Weighted Round-Robin scheduling. Loop detection identifies network loops, while cable diagnostics help locate cable faults or shorts. Store-and-forward switching prevents damaged packets from passing through the network. The Cisco Business 110-5T-D Unmanaged Switch supports Energy Efficient Ethernet on its copper connections. These traffic-handling functions operate automatically rather than requiring configuration. IP routing is not a capability of this Layer 2 unit.

When replacing a discontinued SG110D-05-NA, CBS110-5T-D is the named replacement for the North American model whose end-of-sale date was October 30, 2021. Keep the discontinued part number on the migration record, and specify the replacement’s regional version and required quantity before issuing the PO.
For bench networks used to check large-frame device interoperability, the switch accepts jumbo frames of 9216 bytes. That capability is separate from the frame limits of the devices connected to the bench. Define the test traffic and verify every participating device’s frame setting before ordering the staging equipment.
When opening small offices with preinstalled copper cabling, the switch requires Category 5e or better Ethernet cable. CBS110-5T-D identifies a Cisco Business 110 unmanaged switch with five copper Gigabit Ethernet ports in a desktop chassis. CBS110 names the series, 5T identifies the five 10/100/1000-port configuration, and D identifies desktop rather than rack mounting. The additional regional suffix selects the ordering destination; -NA covers North America.
Cisco Business 110 switches operate without configuration: connect power and Ethernet devices to begin switching traffic. CBS110-5T-D is an unmanaged model, so there is no configuration workflow to include in the deployment plan. Specify connected-device requirements and cabling rather than an ongoing switch-management method.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Business 110. CBS110-5T-D remains part of the available Cisco Business 110 Series Unmanaged Switches. Older Small Business 110 products have separate retirement dates; those milestones belong to the discontinued predecessors and do not describe this model’s lifecycle.
