16 Gbps switching capacity and 11.9 Mpps forwarding rate support wire-speed switching. CBS250-8PP-D supports IPv4 static routing for manually configured network paths. The Business 250 software provides STP/RSTP/MSTP for loop control and LACP for link aggregation. A shared 1.5 MB packet buffer handles traffic across the ports.

Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, clean boot, rated-speed links on every port, PoE output under load on every powered port, and rated adapter output; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. When replacing an installed SG250-08HP-K9-NA, CBS250-8PP-D is the named migration model for that regional part. Separate the replacement requirement from a new network standardization project: record the existing connections, endpoint power requirements and required order condition before issuing the purchase order.
When adding powered endpoints, decide whether their allocations will follow detected device classes or administrator-configured port limits. Both allocation methods are available. Prepare an endpoint schedule identifying required power and critical connections, then specify the allocation method and commissioning checks before the purchase order.
When staging switches for multiple locations, account for DHCP being enabled by default and the fallback management address of 192.168.1.254. Prepare a site-specific addressing plan rather than connecting unconfigured units together. Specify the management subnet, administrator credentials and configuration handoff before ordering.

CBS250-8PP-D has copper Ethernet connections without an SFP cage. Optical transceivers cannot add a direct fiber connection to this model.

CBS250-8PP-D identifies the Business 250 family, eight ports, PoE+ with a partial 45W power budget, and desktop construction. CBS250 names the family, 8 gives the port count, PP distinguishes the partial-power PoE configuration, and D identifies the desktop variant.
CBS250-8PP-D supports a web interface over HTTP/HTTPS, CLI over SSH or Telnet, SNMP, Cisco Business Dashboard and the Cisco Business mobile app. A physical console port is absent. SSH, Telnet and SNMP services are disabled by default and require configuration before use.
CBS250-8PP-D reached end-of-sale October 29, 2024. Software maintenance and vulnerability/security support ended October 29, 2025; the last date of hardware support is October 31, 2029, subject to applicable entitlement. No migration product is named for this model.

CBS250-8PP-D provides a shared 45W PoE budget across eight powered ports, with a 30W maximum on an individual port. The shared budget does not permit every port to supply its individual maximum simultaneously. Size the combined endpoint allocation before ordering.
Business 250 supports IPv4 static routing with 32 static routes and 16 IP interfaces. Routes are configured manually rather than learned through a named dynamic routing protocol. For this configuration, the routing capability places CBS250-8PP-D in the Layer 2+ category.
CBS250-8PP-D supplies endpoint PoE+, while CBS250-8T-D does not supply endpoint PoE. Both models are discontinued. The powered model addresses connections requiring Ethernet-delivered power; the non-PoE model addresses independently powered devices. Compare endpoint power requirements rather than choosing solely by the eight-port count.
CBS250-8PP-D uses an external AC adapter, while CBS250-16P-2G uses an internal AC power supply. Both models are discontinued. The smaller model suits existing compact installations; the larger model addresses installations requiring an internal supply and also changes the access-port count from eight to sixteen.
CBS250-8PP-E-2G adds two Gigabit copper/SFP combo connections that CBS250-8PP-D lacks. Both models are discontinued.
