CBS350-12XS-EU is a fiber-focused, managed Layer 2+ switch with twelve 10 Gigabit SFP+ interfaces, including two positions shared with 10 Gigabit copper connections. Fixed interfaces serve fiber aggregation in small-business networks without an uplink-card purchase, and the non-PoE design connects equipment that receives power independently. The full-width, 1U chassis belongs to the Cisco Business 350 Series Managed Switches. Unlike the discontinued CBS350-12NP-4X-EU, which provides a 375W endpoint-power budget, this model supplies data connectivity without endpoint power. The 10 Gigabit fiber switch connects access switches and network equipment over optical links while retaining copper choices for nearby devices. 240 Gbps switching capacity supports nonblocking operation across the native interfaces, while 178.56 Mpps forwarding handles minimum-size, 64-byte packets. Static routing and RIP v2 support local IP forwarding, and PBR directs traffic according to access-control rules. CBS350-12XS-EU combines 512 MB of DRAM with 256 MB of flash for system operation and image storage. A shared 3 MB packet buffer serves traffic across all ports. STP/RSTP/MSTP handle loop prevention, while LACP supports aggregated inter-switch connections. Administrators can use browser-based configuration, a scriptable CLI, SNMP, Cisco Business Dashboard, or the Cisco Business mobile app. Eight hardware queues and strict-priority or weighted round-robin scheduling control traffic treatment. DHCP snooping, IP Source Guard, and Dynamic ARP Inspection check address bindings at the edge. Four fans provide active cooling; this is not a fanless chassis. 25.3W worst-case consumption at 220V provides the switch-only allowance for power planning.

When replacing a discontinued SX550X-12F-K9-EU within an existing equipment standard, separate hardware substitution from configuration and stack migration. The older model reached end of sale on July 30, 2022. Before the PO, specify configuration migration requirements and verify intended stack membership rather than assuming drop-in equivalence.
When extending an existing stack, plan ring or chain cabling before assigning front-panel connections to endpoints. SFP-H10GB-CU1M provides a 1 m direct-attach option for short links. Cross-stack link aggregation is supported; specify topology, intended stack partners, interconnect allocation, and cable quantities before the PO.
For staged configurations containing access-control policies, the 1024-rule ACL ceiling makes rule count a pre-purchase check rather than a commissioning discovery. Policies can match IPv4 or IPv6 traffic and apply at ingress or egress. Before the PO, size the rule set and specify the staged configuration required.
PoE-powered phones or access points
Non-PoE data ports cannot supply endpoint power. Phones, cameras, and access points require their own power source when connected through the copper interfaces.
Fanless or silent operation

CBS350-12XS-EU identifies the Cisco Business 350 family, a twelve-port 10 Gigabit SFP+ configuration, and the EU regional ordering group. Two copper connectors share two SFP+ interfaces. EU covers the European Economic Area and additional markets, including the United Arab Emirates and South Africa; it is not a software-license suffix.
Cisco Business 350 switches support a web UI over HTTP/HTTPS, CLI through the RJ-45 console or SSH/Telnet, SNMP, Cisco Business Dashboard, and the Cisco Business mobile app. An embedded Dashboard probe supports centralized management, while the Cisco Network Plug and Play agent supports provisioning through Cisco PnP Connect.
